May 19 - The Royal Autocross

Loren,Thanks for taking a ride in my Boxster. I was feeling a little off, plus it takes me time to get used to a "new" car, so I thought I'd have you put down a number I could aim for. (for which I could aim?) I never matched your number, but I liked having some type of goal.
I mentioned the old ...

July 2nd Post Event

Many thanks to those who helped out when my Miata was on fire. It's a bit unsettling to see smoke billowing out of your wheel well. I was a bit frazzled at the time and I hoped I thanked all who helped. Luckily it was just some moss on the brake rotor, but that could have set something else on fire ...

Re: Post 5/9/15 TBD Event

Even with the snags I had a really good time. It just shows you that FAST runs great events.

I believe the settings on the timing display were off because it cleared my time before I hit the stop box. That is probably just a switch setting on the display, but it did not bother me enough to want to ...

Re: Feb 15 Post Event

Woo Hoo! Somebody complimented my January PCA course. Thanks Jeremy.

Loren, I'm kicking around the idea of using a lightly modified version on your original course for April's PCA. Hopefully you'll see it as the sincerest form of flattery. I thought the start and turn around were ideal.

Re: June 28 - FAST Classic @ Brooksville

Loved the course, but it was tight in sections.
I tried the right hand part of the option one time, and it was just not for me.

Course design can be a huge factor when it comes to downed cones. We had nine runs with roughly 65 drivers on my last course at St. Pete and I only saw two cones go ...

Re: May 31 Classic

Hey, how'd I get bested by a Miata? He must have had a V-8 swap. :)

It's a great summer day when you have a fun course, and you don't get rained out.
True we could have gotten in 6 runs with the first two groups being done so early (11:20?), but it's so hard to balance the number of runs with the ...

Re: May 31 - FAST Classic at Brooksville

I'm counting 10 Mustangs and 10 Miatas, but I'm only half awake. I guess I could shift that balance by bringing the $2014 GRM Challenge Mustang instead of the MX-5. Hmmm.
Nope, I just got a used set of Rs for the Miata that are only getting older every day.

Thanks for posting the map. Normally ...

Do these get cancelled for rain?
It looks like it's going to start raining tonight and rain all day Saturday.
Since I've already paid, am I committed to going or loosing my money?
Where did I put my copy of the art of racing in the rain. :)

Truly inspired course design. :)
I would have switched the start and finish though.

Colour me happy as long as the Valrico Box is properly credited.... as a Valrico Box.

Re: Endurocross Aug 19

Had a gret time at this one. I love big sweepers, so I loved this course . My second run was in the very wet. This actually worked out great for me. It was my first autocross in this car, so I got 5 laps in the dry and 5 laps through puddles. Pretty much ideal to feel out the car all in one day. I ...

We are planning to bring our $2012 GRM Challenge TR8. Time to test some home made parts. (I'm letting Tod drive it first.)

1986 MR2 race car ($300 without wheels)

Hi guys, I have this on MR2 on Craig's List , and I would rather not part it out and send it to the crusher. Bring wheels and $300 and a trailer.

Great course design. Really ideal for that site.
Wow Drew! Way to go! 2nd fastest time of the day in a Mustang on street tires. Am I dreaming?
Time to trade in the Coxster for a Mustang.

BTW, are the official results actually going to say Porsche "Coxster" all year?

Thanks for the elbow in my side about Beating a Porsche. :)
I'll be going back to street tires after these "R"s are used up. I already bought the Bidgestones. (Used of course, I'm cheap.)

Re: July 17 2010 post event

Great course! That's the kind of design I like.
Congrats to Eric for sneaking past me on his last run.

I desperately wanted a ride in the F-150 Lightning.
If I knew he was in the Novice class I would have offered an "instructional" ride. (Or tried to make him believe that instructional rides were ...

Registered.
Give me a work assignment near a busy cone, I need the exercise.

When I first started autocrossing I used to envy those timing guys sitting in the shade while I was chasing cones.
Now I look forward to having no responsibilities except resetting cones.

Great event. Steve was rocking the Hawaiian shirt and I think he was the first car under 50 seconds.
Proving the point that Hawaiian shirts help you drive FASTer.

Thanks to Jeremy for the ride along instructional rides. You don't have to be a novice to benefit from an instructional run.
I'd also ...

Re: Apr 24 - Brooksville

I went to an autocross last weekend where they used a hand held stop watch for timing.
Later on I was kidding with an "old timer" that in his day they must have used hour glasses,
and on close calls counted the number of grains of sand. :)

On the subject of course maps. It you get one, even one ...

Re: $2010 GRM Challenge Miata?

The car was quite a score for the price Tod paid.
The prior owner, a lady, would have had to pay quite a bit to get it looking and running good again.
It was smart for her to sell it.

Tod did a heck of a job cleaning up the interior.
(Pretend you parked your car with the top down under a tree for ...
