You ought to come this way and we can go for a ride around the Ring...you can even sit in the wrong seat for extra thrills! Merry Christmas! I've found most of the time a squishy brake pedal isn't a master cylinder, you probably have some air stuck in there. (In all my years of wrenching they eithe...

Look at that purdy car ! Wow, now I see why you took on this project, it turned out really nice, congrats ! Really like those dinner plate size running lights, I need to to get those on my cars to combat the big truck guys that put those huge light bars on their trucks, even though they never take i...

WOW, congrats !! Looks really nice too ! Probably the cleanest 33 year old Mitsu out there. I'm very impressed not to see a bunch of zipties and taped off wires everywhere 8-) . Did you add up all your receipts or did you do like I did, and just file them away and use your budget number as the final...

Those Germans are well known throughout history for their great sense of humor............. Glad to hear you got a extension, and I'm guessing Thanksgiving over there isn't quite the same as here ? Fingers crossed on the crank, but it should be okay, (I'd be more concerned about the cams) Found this...

You missed the part where that bearing is for the balance shaft. They've removed the balance shaft. So, no bearing left an open hole, which sapped oil pressure. Putting the bearing in place NOT lined up with the oil hole effectively blocks that unused oil hole, restoring oil pressure. Un-engineerin...

Man, sorry to hear about the glitter in the oil. Glad to see you're doing a main bearing swap, do you think the rod bearings are okay or are you replacing them too ? I'm guessing you took a good look at the camshafts too. Trying to wrap my head around the oil race issue. I'm guessing the previous ow...

Thats good to hear that parts are still available for your Mitsu, they probably used a lot of the same parts spread across other models ? Haven't won anymore shop rags, though haven't taken it to any shows since then either. Though every time I do take it out, I get a lot of interest and some actual...

Fun ! Its kind of enjoyable when you search for NOS parts and actually find it and get it delivered. As I'm sure you know a lot of 30 year old plus Japanese cars are becoming popular with collectors and enthusiasts. Manufactures are starting to uncover NOS that was crated up and put in the corner hi...

It’s alive ! Congrats :thumbwink:

I’m also a little confused on minus 100 psi oil pressure ? The only oil gauge I saw was a temp gauge ? Was the valve train making a lot of noise ?

Wow, looky theres a engine in that car ! Where is all the hacked up wiring and cut AC lines ? Oh thats right, an adult is supervising all the work. Goof job, I liked the old battery better with the Bull on it though. Is the engine making any kind of noise yet ?

Thanks Tim, its getting a lot of looks, I like the stock look with the wheel covers, they look good but I doubt you would mistake them for wheels standing a few feet away. I might go to another show tomorrow and maybe bring home another roll of towels :thumbwink:

Engine pics are cool, looks like it won't be long until that thing is making noise. 8-) Though the pics of the towns and areas over there are very cool, I've never been across the pond, hopefully I will someday. Did you climb the mountain ?

$1100 for a oil pan :o :o :o Is it self installing and give you back rubs ? Wow, I guess when you have gone as far as you have there's no turning back. I don't mind buying tools, the way I look at it is that they're basically free because the money you save doing the work yourself more than pays for...
