Re: Oct. 16 and 17 - Brooksville

Sorry you can't make it, Kenny!
I think it's for the best anyways. Kat is still recovering from her surgery and there's plenty to be done around the house. I am, however, adding all this year's dates to the calendar in my phone and writing them on my desk calendar at work. Don't want to end up in ...

Re: Oct. 16 and 17 - Brooksville

I missed registration (thought the event was next weekend, not this one) but can't make it on Saturday anyways. Sunday would have been ok. I'll charge the batteries and get the registration information uploaded to the laptop then drop it off in the trailer on Friday evening after work.

Was looking ...

Re: July 17th - SPC

To whomever gets there early tomorrow (Eric?)... I left the timing box in the trailer after the last event. Could you take out the batteries and charge them for about 30 minutes each? We've got plenty of time in the morning before first car off even if somebody doesn't get to it.

Oh yeah, handle ...

Re: Swaybar question regarding classification

re-evaluate as to whether I think I also need a larger rear sway bar.
Yes, but not as big as you would for a sedan. You've got some extra weight back there that a sedan doesn't have.

I am not 100% up to date on the new suspension geometry they put in the rear of the new hatch models but your ...

Re: June 12th Brooksville

Chris, enjoyed the course. Thanks for making sure there was a green pepper pizza for lunch that I could help demolish. Jeremy, I wish I had asked you to film one of my runs. I hope everybody stayed hydrated as much as they could. I've had 2 Gatorades since I got home and just keep drinking water ...

Re: 5-16-10 post event

Funny stuff, Drew, all around.
I'm with you on the tire pressure thing. I do set it the night before, but that's it, except every once in a while in the middle of summer when it just doesn't feel quite right, and oh, look, 53 psi...

And Chris, race tires or not, Drew is hard to beat ...

Charles has the laptop, so as long as the timing gear is there shortly before we start runs you'll be fine. Besides, how often do you see me there before 8:30? Yellow_Colorz_PDT_03

Re: March 28 - SPC

I'll be there. It looks like the clutch is holding in 2nd gear as long as I don't let the full boost hit, so I will probably try a few runs. Maybe I can run it all in 1st? Maybe I'll just take Bill up on his offer to drive the S2k instead. Yellow_Colorz_PDT_01

I guess I could do it for the points. Carl and Mark will just kick my arse again anyways no matter what I drive.

Re: March 28 - SPC

I'm not sure if I will be able to make it out. My clutch has started slipping and it may not be worth the destruction of my flywheel. I'll be performing some performance tests this week to see.

Re: Post finish course design

The timing lights were okay this time because there was little risk of a spin at the finish. I considered moving them out, but on the right side, moving the light out would mean moving it closer to the outside of a big sweeper... potentially more risk there.
True, but somebody in the second run ...

Re: Post finish course design

And since we're talking about finishes - the last 3 events, the finish lights have been set up right along side the course, putting the lights themselves in danger of being hit. Also, the reel of cord has been left right next to them as well.

Please stop doing that.

Move the lights back away from ...

Re: Feb 21, 2010- SPC

What happened was that the power shut off (it's on a 6-hour timer) and when we noticed, we did a save and went to turn it back on. Apparently, that save was not complete when the power came back on and it hiccupped and locked up the program. Windows wasn't locked up, but the program was stuck in an ...

Re: Feb 21, 2010- SPC

I think my problem came from a few of Loren's list, and one that didn't make it. I was braking too late after the "front stretch", and turning too early for the finish. I kept forgetting that cone was further in than it was. And I think the big one was not keeping up with my tire pressure. The wear ...

Re: Feb 21, 2010- SPC

Aside from a power glitch that took the timing computer out for a few minutes, I think it was a nearly flawless event. Can't wait to see the results... Yellow_Colorz_PDT_02
Interestingly enough, the last run group had mostly 9 runs. Which is a little better than what it was at first, with only 5 ...

Also, I'm still working on the "most improved student" results list. The output from the software wasn't what I was expecting it would be so I have to do it manually. Should have it done by 4:00 (Eastern).
