I did tech for today's BMW Club autocross. I paid particular attention to battery security, and was surprised at the number failures (one of which was in car whose driver should have known better). So it seems that there is a consensus that batteries must be inspected at each event, the presence of factory-installed covers notwithstanding.

I can live with that. I'll just get all of the fasteners finger tight the night before and remove the cover for inspection at tech.

But I'd caution ...

Please try to have the stickers available at the first event employing the more thorough inspection.

I understand the benefit of battery mount inspection. My question was, 'How would you propose to perform the inspection' on certain cars.

Regarding the inspection of battery security:
Some cars (mine included) have trunk-mounted batteries that are not visible without removing a lot of trim and covers in the trunk (a PITA). How would you propose to perform the inspection?

Can't wait to shake off the cobwebs in the Z4. I've been driving a motorhome, SUV and riding motorcycles since June. See y'all Saturday.
