Thanks for the pix, Eric - folks love gettin' their pichers took!

Man, it rained...all...day. On behalf of FAST, I wanna thank everyone who stuck it out - no one stayed dry (except the lucky goobs in the timing trailer Yellow_Colorz_PDT_08 ), and we had quite a few novices who got a drenching welcome to autocross! We also had a few old faces show up, which was great to see, too. For those of you who registered and then decided dry and cool was better, well, thanks for your donation in support of your local grassroots autocross effort. Also, there were several folks who came out with no intention of running, did their work assignment and then left - thanks very much to you all. We do appreciate the follow-through.

All said, the event went quite smoothly. We had a great turnout - near capacity. I think most folks enjoyed lunch (especially that spicy pasta salad). A little bit of a late start, but since there was no way to chalk line the course, it was necessary to do some last minute tweaking to make it easier to follow, and also to make sure it was clear, the parade lap was added as well in addition to the novice walk. The timing trailer was very accommodating to the constant barrage of "hey, what was my time?" We all got 5 runs, finished at a pretty reasonable time, and had some extra help cleaning up, which was greatly appreciated.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again in October. :D

LOST and FOUND:

Several umbrellas. Most ended up in the trailer.

One I ended up taking home (the trailer was gone when we found it) - it's a very nice "golf" umbrella. Opens automatically. I hope no one can accurately describe it, 'cause I really wanna keep it, but if it's yours and you can ID it, I'll give it up. Yellow_Colorz_PDT_13

I thought the event was great. It was nice to see everyone come out in spite of the rain. I hope all the novices had a good time and I look forward to seeing everyone in october, hopefully on a much dryer course.

I guess I'll be the first impatient person to say it, results please.

Awesome day!!

Dispite the rain, it really turned out to be a good day. I have to give props to the course workers who delt with the rain, sucked it up and and didn't complain, you all deserve a huge Thanks!!

Steve and Jamie did a really great job dealing with a horrible weather situation and still pulled it out!! The run groups couldn't have been timed better when lunch arrived, and props to Steve for the lunch!! Really liked the sandwiches and salads! 8)

Once I figured out the course (after two wasted runs :? ) I was beginning to like it, I was surprised how much grip I had in the wet conditions. Have to give props to Adam for finishing 1st in "J" , I road with him earlier and he really seemed to have a good line through the soaked course.

Also have to give props for Rydell Huff for stepping up to get supplies after we found out late that our supply person didn't show, and for getting the FTD of the day!! Good job Rydell !! Yellow_Colorz_PDT_12 Yellow_Colorz_PDT_12

Also props to the Wheelers for showing up for their work assignments even though they didn't plan on running, (insert Borat) "very nice"

Those pictures are very good...I think Tim needs to print that one and post it over his desk!

I'll echo Steve's comments on the help we got from everyone, and especially the large number of novices. If autocrossing is kind of crazy, it's a special kind of crazy to autocross in the rain...due the conditions, this course turned out to have a couple of visual challenges to follow, and some huge challenges to work (no chalk boxes!), but everyone coped. Extra thanks to everyone who helped set up and break down the site, especially the new folks who had little idea what they were getting into, but pitched in anyhow. This event ran smoothly by any standard, let alone with the weather. Thanks.

I think I forgot my "golf" umbrella that is black/white while I was busy working on the car..lol
I wish my car would just stop missing Dallas so bad, she has been homesick since I got here... :(

Oh and I had a blast, it was a great event, even with all the rain it was fun, here is what I think might be my best run:

Thank you guys for all the help and for the quick registration, I will make sure I register first before the event this time if I can get my car fixed and if I don't move back to Dallas because of car issues :D

Ok, yeah, black and white...there's a third color...

I'll bring it to B'ville, unless you wanna come get it in St. Pete.

Finally got the complete photo set uploaded. It's fairly large at 385mb so it'll take a while to download. If anyone wants a certain photo or two, just DM your email address and let me know the car number and image number. Next time I'll make sure I don't build the site in flash. That was actually accidental. Hmmm, maybe I'll just replace it.

Anyway, if anyone wants the complete set, you can download the file below.

Tim deserves some serious props for 2nd place in a Corvette and wetter conditions.
