OctoberFEST FAST 14th is History

Postby twistedwankel » Sun Oct 14, 2012 7:26 pm

Thanks to everyone for making this a safe fun event. Saw mostly alot of smiles today. Couple mechanicals but that is racing and all ended well.
Extra Special thanks to Ed C. and Jim S. for sharing hauling of the trailer. Martyrdom is assured.
My fanny is dragging after a two day event but Ron Rice pulled off a great weekend double header. I loved Saturday's Bracket.
And thanks to the small staff of tireless helpers who helped build and prepare the course (Matt S. in particular). Would be great if more people actually asked to help do these tedious things.

It would be cool if someone would step up and Chair/Co-Chair November's event. Loren (and I) will help you with any course you want to try or dream you up one? How do you feel about squares and triangles  :headscratch:

Approximate inventory quantities for the Nov 10th event are:

5 unopened cases of water
7- 12 packs of soda all regular good mix. Could use some diet Coke and more Sprite?

Don't need anymore plates or paper towels for the next event.

Might need one bag of marble dust to be on the safe side?

Excellent autocross, everybody! Another well-run FAST event-- everybody pitched in and made it happen.

Big ups to Ottoman Doug for dreaming up such a fun course. I never mastered it, but when I got close, it was awesome!

HUGE thanks to Joe Vance for letting me abu.... I mean DRIVE his car. It's amazing how much faster we got by driving together. I also picked up some pointers as to how to balance my car. Very educational experience today. Ton of fun!

My birthday is November 11. John's is the 12th. There may be cake at the next event. :D

Really cool pix Eric. Nice to see even the hot rides had lean on my course. Also see you saved the "best for last".
Welcome to FAST.
Doug

** Just tag on the "view all albums" then tag on the pix and it showed it all to me. Even the Stalker had a little lean.

Fun course. Took me 5 runs to figure out the course. Not sure why.
Here is my video...

Blew the turnaround, but not sure if it even hurt that much.
Got a decent exit and the entry was super fast.

I don't get it? That looked just like how I drove but you somehow ended up 2.5 seconds faster? Crazy fast Chris is "The Baron". Good thing for me I got the new wheels for Shamu and the tires come Monday 8-)

I saw some real talent emerg today from a number of people!!!! I actually met a couple guys who I didn't even know ran in S2 who beat me bad....hmmmmmm.

Some really consistent good drives by The Crew. If I can get an expletive from a daddy with little kids I know the course was a good one.

At least I ate good :d

Okay, great event! Ron & Doug did a great job of... everything. And thanks to all who helped. (pretty much everybody, as usual)

Results are here
There will be at least one correction. Moving Nils from M2 to M1.

I ended up having to reinstall the photo gallery software on the website. Simplified things. Just one gallery now. I'll keep 20 or so photos in there, whatever is newest or bestest. Got a great photo to share? Want to be famous? Use the uploader on the right side of the home page to upload them!

Also, remember that if you tag your YouTube videos with "drivefastvids", they will be included in the video gallery on the website. We've got quite the collection.

All I know is last year in SCCA we both ran STX legally. I considered it a good day when he only beat me by under .8 seconds @ Brooksville.

I don't know when(or if) he changed the motor? He's always been really fast. Races alot.

He runs E class @ BMW = 55-64pt range including all mods.

I really don't think he cares what class he's put into. Nice guy.
