Re: Feb 16th - Brooksville autox - the Pivot Cone calls...
The last two spots went early this morning, the event is full!
For those who didn't get in, two things:
1. If you're not on the Notification Email List, you should be. (and, obviously, you should act on that email quickly... and if you can't accept that there may be the occasional error in that email, DON'T subscribe, just shut the hell up and be among the people who didn't get in
) How to subscribe? Look on the home page of the club website. Plain as day. Been there for a year or more.
2. The only way to get into this event at this point is to Watch The Entry List. When there's a cancel, grab it before someone else does. We don't keep a waiting list, there's just no way to do it with this system.
In some ways, I feel bad that our registration situation has come to this. But, on the other hand, it's better than having 100 people show up at the gate and only being allowed to let 70 in. Or at SPC, to plan for 70-75 people and have 100 show up. Pre-registration is good.
We now return you to Doug's alternate reality.

There was no error in the email this time. I will admit I was one of the ones that clicked on the email link and didnt actually read the fact that it said REGISTRATION OPENS TOMORROW.Loren wrote:and if you can't accept that there may be the occasional error in that email, DON'T subscribe, just shut the hell up and be among the people who didn't get in

I try to not do the same thing twice in a row (I've never done pizza's before) but future Saturday events when they are open will certainly use that option again. Nothing to stop anyone from grabbing one on the way home or sitting down for a real meal. Always glad when people enjoy the lunch.BrandLoyal wrote: As for the lunch... Re: Feb 16th - Brooksville autox - the Pivot Cone calls...
Meh, there was a minor error in the message subject. I simply edited the subject of last month's email. Changed "January" to "February", didn't realize until after it was sent that the subject said that registration was "open" when, in fact, it wasn't for another 6-8 hours. But, it still got the point across. People got registered. Or, most people did. Didn't stop a couple people from emailing me about it and Jeremy from politely telling the world about it on the forum. But, as you said, the email itself was clear and correct for those who bothered to read it.BrandLoyal wrote:There was no error in the email this time.

If anyone's going to cancel, please let Mario and Ed know. They're on the outside looking in. With sad, puppy dog eyes.

Just out of curiousity...how many requests to work timing came from novices (usually under the mistaken impression that timing's an easy job because you're sitting down).

Re: Feb 16th - Brooksville autox - the Pivot Cone calls...
Got myself in, thanks for the email! (I really do appreciate this feature)
Also, one of the new guys is a friend of mine - and he is horribly mis-classed. Hopefully there wont be an issue re classing him on event day. (?)
Otherwise I'm thrilled to come out and play with you guys again. It will be my first time at the airport (though I work about 100 yards from the event area). I hope to run a little better than last time. I got around to swapping in my new clutch shortly after the last event I ran (by the events end, I could barely change gears, the clutch wouldn't fully disengage...)
anyway... cars running great (knock on wood) and I cant wait for the event!
I have another friend that would like to run (couldn't get him to answer his phone yesterday....) but he missed the registration. Ill keep an eye on the registration list to see if he cant sneak in a spot...

As far as I can tell, my SRT-4 is SCCA class STX (2013) or possibly DSP (2013)?
.... which as far as I can tell puts me in FAST class M3.
(that took way too long to figure out)

I can take a look when I get home, but I think almost all of the novices leave work preference blank.

I ran a SCCA Sebring event last weekend with about 50 drivers. Four years ago they had over 75 for a similar event. SCCA is gone from the west coast of Florida. You must be doing something right.

If you tell me who he is and where he should be classed, I can fix it. OR... he can log in and edit his own entry anytime until pre-registration closes.TheBeak wrote:Also, one of the new guys is a friend of mine - and he is horribly mis-classed. Either way, it's a little easier to fix before the event than waiting until event day.

Not to worry. You can have my spot as Chair Whore if your Trailer Whore position gets screwed so the event can actually "occur". Lunch is covered and I hear there might be an event the following day at Brooksville for my "fix":)
