Re: August 3 - B'ville - Endurocross 2013!
Was a fun fast course, but I was soaked in sweat by 7:15 and my goose was cooked at 11:30.

The course was a lot of fun glad I was able to pick up a tshirt.
Although it was an incredibly hot and sweaty day it was well worth it.

Re: Endurocross 2013 True Confesions..
Before the results are posted, I just watched an in car video... in my second lap of the clockwise runs, I missed the last slalom cone of the return slalom course. Arggghhh.... I suspected it when I was driving, but there was nothing called in according to the times posted. Blind hope... Oh well, still had a great time! I'll post a video in a bit.

Re: Endurocross 2013
Lets do that again at SPC. Wish the car was up for a second lap, she sure felt good. No e-fans, brooksville, in August = a very hot car. Made it home at just 189 degrees (normal is 180)! But having the heater full blast sure sucked!

I saw you with a video camera when I was going out for my run, did you perhaps get my spin out and/or mad drifts on film?snookwheel wrote:Before the results are posted, I just watched an in car video... in my second lap of the clockwise runs, I missed the last slalom cone of the return slalom course. Nope, I'm not claiming it. You got me by a solid 8 seconds. If the courser workers missed your DNF, it doesn't count!snookwheel wrote:Before the results are posted, I just watched an in car video... in my second lap of the clockwise runs, I missed the last slalom cone of the return slalom course. In this instance, I'm quite happy with my 2nd overall. A nice cap to my season of driving with John!

Re: Endurocross 2013
While we wait for Ron to email the results files...
I want to thank everyone for pulling together and making this a successful event. I feel bad for Steve Seiter and worse for his car. (I won't steal too much of his thunder, but after spinning off course and coming to a complete stop... he hit the edge of the runway HARD when trying to get back on course and did some significant damage to the underside and front of his car.
) Aside from that mishap, we had a few cars overheat, and a car or two try to shed some parts, nothing major.
John took up a lot of slack as co-chairman. Couldn't have done it without him! There are a handful of others who went way above and beyond the call of duty today, as well. I won't try to name them all, they know who they are... and so do I!
The "reverse course" idea was interesting, but I don't think I'd do it again. At least not for an Enduro. This isn't the first time I've tried to adapt a course to be drivable in both directions... it rarely works well without doing some significant tweaking from one direction to the other. We tried to do it with NO changes to the course this time... and I found it to be a little awkward to drive in the "reverse" direction. Didn't flow as well as I like a course to flow.
Thanks again, everybody. Especially those who helped pack up the trailer at the end of the day! I'm SO glad we were done before 3pm, it was ridiculously hot.

Re: Endurocross 2013
Thanks to everyone that pulled together and helped us build another successful FAST event! I thought I would skip this one, but Loren tapped me to co-chair and I agreed because I'm a dope and I love to play racecar! (Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in!)
Though not present at the event, I have to give a shout to the Mayor for telling me exactly how to do the Publix lunch and providing contact info and everything. Left to my own devices, I'd have been lazy and ordered pizzas and that would have been disgusting in August heat at Brooksville. Everybody that enjoyed (or at least kept down) their lunch, say hello to Mr. Doug Adams!
Thank you to everyone for fetching supplies, getting fuel, setting up, shagging cones, tearing down, cleaning up, taking home leftovers, hauling trash, and just generally coming out and having a good time and participating.
See you at the Aug 17 awards extravaganza at Philippe Park!

Ron sent the results to me this morning, but I'm on my way out the door to go see a movie. Will review them and post them when I get back!
