There are only a couple things that keep me from racing these days, and a death in the family is one of them.

I apologize for not showing up with the gas can this morning for the generator. I didn't even remember until this afternoon because of the circumstances.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Mike. You missed a great event. We muddled through with the old gas can. I think Doug may have just over filled it last time, it seemed fine.

Sent from my phone. Expect more errors than usual!

Sorry for your loss Mike...we missed you. unfortunately there's still a disturbance in the force :( The BMW's are starting to dominate!! :bangwall: Hopefully you'll be able to make the next event!

Below is my fastest run...still to many mistakes :( I really need to work on the mistakes...which I think are mental! I'm getting a better feel for the car. According to my data I pulled 1.06g's and maxed out at 70mph.

the video ended a little early...but I did save it at the end. There were no cones harmed in this video :thumbwink:

Not a good day for Frick and Frack today.

OK so I lost my key ($175 a pop for a replacement!) before we even got to the grid.

Then we chewed the sod on Doug's first run, lost tire pressure, and ended up leaving early.

Sorry for abandoning our work postings in the second heat, but Doug had to go to work and we didn't know if we were going to have to wait on US 41 for a AAA tow truck or not, so we left as soon as we could. As it turned out, the magic fix a flat finally held up enough to get us home, at which time we saw that the other tire on that side was pancaked.

Had to arrange for some alternate transportation, but all is well.

Thanks to Dave and Loren for your help.

Jeez, I didn't even get a single run. Bummer.

Waiting on Ron to get home, he's got the computer... and I think he said he was going to meet his family at Busch Gardens after the event, so it might be a while.

What a fun day. Here is a video from a couple of my runs. At the end of the drivers meeting I heard Loren say there was a National Champion around and available to ride along. So I am in grid and I see him wandering around helmet in hand chatting with people. I come back from my first run and he is still wandering around the grid, I come back from my second run and he still standing around with his helmet. So I ask him to ride with me. That is the first part of the video, I think that run was a 49.00. I spend the 4th and 5th runs working on his suggestions and seem to have put it together for run 5. Run 5 was a 47.8 and is the last chin spoiler segment of the video. I tried a new angle for the roll bar cam and it sucks.

Fun day! It was great to be back. A 1.8 on stock suspension is more fun to drive than a 1.6 on coil-overs.

Today was a good turn out as always. Weather was great. Unfortunately, it was not one of my better days autocrossing. I just couldn't get focused. Oh well. On to the next one.

Great big thank-you's to all who helped out today! Very smooth event - even though the last run group had a few glitches (stupid sun...).

I had 3 good runs (Dan - sorry I didn't get to ride along with you) before my car started to misbehave. Y'all know that part of tech about having the battery well-secured? There's a good reason for that!

Couldn't have been a prettier day. Started out a little chilly (ok, it was f'in cold - I couldn't feel my fingers or toes...), but by 10 am it was t-shirt weather. Fabulous. :thumbwink:

Sorry about the portapotty. Not our doing, and being looked into.

See y'all next time!

What? Mike is dead? Whoa.

Can I buy his car? Oh...too soon?

Sorry Mike. We missed you today. Seems like alot of people we race with have relatives passing away. I too had one in Dec. You have all our best wishes.

Here's one of my dirty 48's. I just couldn't seem to keep it clean today. :thumbwink: for Loren, but down a great run on the last run.

http://youtu.be/WflAgfs0NWM

This was a really fun course. Fun because it had a nice variety of turns. Fun because it was technical. Fun because it (the course) made you work for it. I think I really underestimated how technical it was and that showed in my runs.

I'll be back at Brooksville next week with BMW / PCA. I'm gonna miss next month because of Sebring. If Loren wins next month, I think he's got S2 on lock. :notworthy:

Great course, beautiful weather and of course, you all are awesome.
I, on the other hand, am a noooooooob :derp: . I actually felt more out of control than my first time out. Despite the walks and instruction - when the foot hit the pedal, everything I'd learned and was being told flew out the window. Anyway, this is actually good fuel for motivation.
Although I still had a good time, I feel I need to start with the basics of braking, turning and accelerating outside of a full course. Did any of you ever do this? Any tips? Should I pick up a couple of cones and find an empty parking lot somewhere?
