If I remember correctly, the parts found recently on the runway have been mainly from miatas.

The last time someone handed me a part and said it was from a Miata, the part had "Honda" stamped on it!

Matt should probably get an award for trying to shed a tire in the middle of a slalom, though.

Those frickin' GoPro's should be banished :snicker: "Hey, look how much I suck on Utube everyone." "Hey, look at a closeup of cement particles and bouncing." "Hey, is this covered under warrantee?" Frickin' Go Pro's should be called "go-Souths".

I'm going to go way out on a limb and say: "I'll definitely have a tell me where I'm goin' before I'll glue a video camera to my bald ass head."

SCCA banned "drones". I would ban "No Pros".

It is highly unlikely I'll find some 200 race tires in my sizes before Jan 1st for the Vette and the F-Stone tires having run two events are beyond crap now to the point of oleo runflats. If I don't get some you are certainly welcome to co-drive the RX8 that is set up "perfectly" with oversize RS3 tires, alignment, shocks and rims. Watch to see which car I sign up. I'll be there for the afternoon session for sure. You can sign up as 119 or 61 or 91 or even run any class you want. At this point I'll run S2 #19 in the afternoon session. It is a struggle to beat anyone in the top 6 positions there. I doubt Chris will beat me again by .001 sec in OA times.

With my car down, I haven't been checking in as often. Computer is out for service for my vette...which me luck to have it back in time to register.

Plenty of great tires out there. Both the Michelin Pilot Super Sport and Bridgestone RE-11s are available at tire rack.

I was told the 200 Bridgestone 11's suck but are semi reasonable $$ and have no personal experience with them. The 11A's (well rated) are only available in very limited 17" sizes unfortunately.

200 RS3's are available in shorter dia to fit also (probably go that way when they get some new ones inventory again). Michelins are too rich for my destructive short lived driving style @ $1400 but are great I hear. I think I could get great R 30-100 tires for about $1200 for that matter?

I'm chewing on doing an SCCA 2015 legal thing and either going with 17" all around or 18" but have to match the offset within 7mm either way. Don't really want to change all four wheels again so am only looking at matching designs to what I have. Probably have to do short spacers to get to legal 58mm in rear from 65mm stock?

It's not like I don't have enough cars to drive in the mean time with decent race tires:)

I do however agree that a vette on shitty tires is still more fun to drive than most cars on Hoosiers.

There are many solutions to this problem. The easiest and probably most fun would be for me to just drive my truck and whore a drive with someone in a reasonably competitive S2 car. Anybody in S2 up for that?
Jamie has graciously agreed to let me drive his almost State Championship winning Miata, so we're all set.

Registration for this event closes Monday afternoon, don't forget to register!

There will be a 1 and 2 finish in S2. You can plan on it.

Not so sure about it being you and Evan, though...

Hmmmm. Thought Loren was go-driving a yellow stang with torque? Probably why Ben got so pumped with a tire warmer to help him!!

What no BRZ? That is the question lately.

Anyone who ends up beating the 6 top S2 drivers will probably not do it twice in a row.

It's okay to make a turn tight "going in" but not "going out" I always like to have it looser when I go out because I know how to steer with the rear wheels too. Some people cannot do that yet because their ass gets all puckered up and they have way too much camber in their asses. "Less in the back and have a good rack."

I'm gonna take a couple stray runs in they yellow beastie, but I'll be competing in-class with Jamie's car.

BRZFRS's??? None of them are registered in S2 this time. :dunno:

Ben I was planning my Nobel acceptance speech this year too but that didn't pan out either.

Don't be deceived by Jamie's +200k mile "SCCA legal" stock car on stock skinny wheels. Those skinny tires work really well on concrete doing turns and slaloms. The padding in his seat is compressed to the point of a true bucket. Now that he's semi-retired he can actually afford things like bushings and a decent performance wheel alignment every 6 years.

Quick question.

I was just looking at the FAST website about work assignments and what to bring as a course worker during the event. It mentions to bring a safety vest, do you have any loaners or is it required to bring them? I don't have one (two actually since my wife is also driving) and wondering if I need to find some before next weekend.

Thanks,
Dan.

You don't need to bring a vest, we have them.

The only thing you really need to bring is your car and driver's license.

(and hat, sunscreen, that sort of stuff)
