You haven't been to a Classic event yet, but even with almost selling this one out (we're at 49 of 50 entries right now!), we still plan to do a minimum of 8 runs. Usually for a Classic, we'll declare a certain number of "official runs", and then if we get through those runs before we've run out the schedule, we let people take additional runs until the time for their run group runs out.

So, it's not uncommon to get 8-10 runs at a Classic event.

But, since it's your birthday... I'll be sure you get a birthday run. :)

Wow, birthdays seem to be popular this time of year. :-D

I'd be glad to give up my bd run for a card full of cash.

I got the extra runs on my birthday once. It sucked.

Huh?

Shumaker and Stroud have moved from a C5 to an RX8?

That will be interesting. Good thing they will get 8 runs or more to equal my turd run before brain fade kicks in.

Kind of like the birthday boys.

Jan 3rd gets the turd.

If you don't find another S2 ride for the 17th, you can be a 3rd driver in my car.

I have the 17th nailed down (thanks, Rob!). Philip offered up his car for this weekend...but I am perfectly willing to split up my runs across different cars. :)

Jamie, if you don't mind slumming it down in front wheel drive S5 land somewhere in the distant back of the grid :snore: , you are very welcome to take as many runs as you like in the Mazda3 :)

I'm sure you will find something more challenging than this but the offer is there if you need it.

That first slalom is going to be interesting, I haven't figured out the best side to enter on yet. So far the right side looks like the best bet because I'm not sure how much speed I could actually gain or use on the exit by taking the left side instead.
The sections by the 4-5-and 6 work stations look like a blast to drive.

Brakes are more effective than throttle, so where can you keep the most speed? Looks to me the end of the slalom is the place to be fast, but, Loren usually changes slaloms by moving a cone in the middle to throw off easy choices.

Wasn't planning to play with this slalom. It's just a long straight slalom. Most I might do is make what I deem to be "the wrong way" look more attractive at the entry.

But, Joe is right. You always want to maximize the exit of a slalom unless doing so makes the beginning (or middle) of the slalom unbearably painful.

Look at what's after this slalom. Essentially a straight. You want maximum entry speed into that straight.
