This should be a good event, We finally have more than one car in S5! Hopefully we get a fast track like the last open event. Also, I had numbers made, anyone recognize the font? Image

That is correct. :thumbwink: I picked up 8 ones and 8 twos so I can have a wide variety of numbers.

Remember, you can get your very own permanent number if you want to be sure nobody else snags your digits:

It's a little late in the season, but it's there if you want it!

Wait, did somebody say course map?

Doing something new with "options" this time. The options are the three split-gates marked with green cones. Left or right, your choice, but you'd be wise to have your decision made well before you get there!

Finally going to get the AMX to the track! The driver does have a bum knee though. What kind of work assignment can he expect?

Have him make a note of it in his entry, and that'll be taken into account when the work assignments are made. Have him be specific -- if he can't run, if he can't stand for more than a certain time, if he can't lift more than a certain amount, then say so.

First timer with a bum knee will most likely be put on grid. (and I saw the entry, he stated he was due for knee replacement)

We just tightened up the leaks on the AMX, now it's off to the shop for a new carburetor and fan shroud then it should be good to go! Has the S10 run before? That will be interesting to see.

My S10 hasn't autocrossed yet. But, we've had pickups run before.

If you're wrenching on the AMX to prep it for autocross, be sure to run through the Safety Inspection Checklist.

It's cool to see an AMX anywhere... doubly so at an autocross! (reminds me, I saw an Avanti on the street yesterday)

No, I think he was asking if it was actually running. ;) (Is it?)

It is now back among the living! I just changed the oil and drove it to the bank. We're working on the "trust" in our relationship right now. And I think I'm going to have to buy a starter.

Welcome, Michael!

Start with this:
http://drivefast.org/novice-tips/your-f ... autocross/

And the whole "novice tips" section of the FAST website.

And if you're up for more reading, there's a good thread on this forum:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1630

But, my best advice is to just relax. Make sure your car is safe and reliable, come out and have some fun! Take advantage of the FAST novice instruction, and you'll definitely have a good time learning how to autocross.
