Yes, gonna give the C5 a try. I am doing my best to shave the tires.

This will be interesting for sure! Looking back at our last 5 events with my Rivals I'm up 3-2. One could certainly argue that the Mustang was on its almost worn out tires while I was just breaking mine in. Let's do this Drew!!

ALL cars are faster than Doug anymore but tires count too. Suffice to say Joe and I both took 10 runs each at the Duel "in theory" tied for 3rd overall and 2nd stickers in 2 combined groups on my shitty/awesome/fit my bastard rectory rims/ cheap Toyo tires that no one ever heard of. They now have 105 runs on them 5/32" left. I also finished the season in 2nd in S0 with my S1 car against Ken in a GT3 and Tony in 2 different kickass Porsches on name tires. That's a lot of Porsches on better tires than I have. I well know if I had RE71's or Rivals it wouldn't have moved me up one tiny bit on the finish standings. You know Ken is going to Nationals and will be competitive, right in SS? I have been only 0.6 seconds behind the RE71 cars in BS at SCCA on my "shitty slow" tires. Joe killed him in BS by 1.3 seconds under equal wet drying conditions last event.

My RX8 is course dependent faster than my Vette due to wheels, alignment and 3 yr old 200 tires upgrade. We could run it in S1. All the top guys in S1 are not running crazy popular tires and we are still competitive with each other on factory rims. Therein lies the fun for me. Joe will certainly bust my balls with his competitive nature BUT he hits a lot of cones. I don't. Cones will always be +2 seconds each. When I started racing I told young people not to worry about the parked cars in the lot so long as they looped outside them  I will bring some cleaner wax for Joe and he will soon tire of removing those multiple marks. I'm not the maid.

Do they make painter's tape in 24" widths?

Yeah Doug, I did leave some black marks on your car, sorry. I remember the ones I hit dead center on the bumper, I was racing Loren and he hit 3 also, if I had been slow enough to miss those cones I would have lost. I don't mind scrubbing them off.

The really funny part is you were BOTH disqualified with 3 but you finished first. Had you hit no cones and finished second you still would have won that heat. We had a short discussion in scoring about that result. :blackeye:

Since we don't have another autocross to do this weekend, you get to see the course map for this event a little earlier than usual. Good luck!

I'm sure it's not as fast as you think it is. Have a look at last September. It's almost the same course.

Also, registration closes in about a week. Tell all yer friends!

Speaking of classing, being the beginning of a new season, everyone should take a look and see if their car has been reclassed by SCCA for 2016. Remember, your FAST class is based on your "Street" SCCA class. They moved a bunch of cars around this year. With FAST classes often being a combination of two classes, a change in your SCCA class may not result in a change in your FAST class, but it's worth looking at.

it's not the amount of torque you have, it's how you use it. ;)

1990 thru 2005 Miata's remain in SCCA ES, when modified they should still compete in M3. And I see S5 tire size bumped up to 225; I wish I had seen that earlier. Oh well, there is always 2017. The Blue Whale sends you greetings.
