Pictures! Unfortunately 99% of it is the morning run groups.

What a great event! If we end up not running there again (as is the current prediction), it was a good way to go out.

I really enjoyed driving the course, even though it ended up being a bit of a "power course", and I have none. I also handicapped myself by running in the first run group... but, Joe Vance did, too... and he won the class handily.

Anyway, thanks to the usual cast of characters for helping this event run smoothly from start to finish!
What's the deal? Why might we not be returning? I really enjoy that venue. What might take it's place?

We requested dates for 2017, they declined. We're poking around looking for alternative sites. Meanwhile, we have secured dates for all of the events we want to do next season at Brooksville and Tampa Greyhound Track. If we get back on at Tampa Bay Downs or find an alternative site, we'll change some things around. For now, we're just happy that we still have sites available to do all of the events that we want to do.

Crusty gave its all today, including shedding auto parts at the finish, truly a sight to behold.

We probably could. The only way to do it would be to omit the FN class from the results entirely. Then, anyone who's JUST running FN would have no record of their times. (Just because they aren't "competing" doesn't mean they aren't interested in their times.) We could publish two sets of results, but that's more trouble than it's worth. If you don't want to consider the FN runs when looking at overall times, just count how many of them are above you and subtract that from your position.

I didn't realize you couldn't pull the FN runs out of the raw times list with out extra work and still have them post at the end of the class list. Okay, no worries. Did Justin, Tyler, and Steve enjoy their stickers yesterday? That course got faster with more and more runs.

Yeah, as you know (because you had a broom in your hand!), being wet in the morning made it impossible for us to sweep or blow the sand off before we started. As things dried and cars ran, the racing line got better and better. I noticed it starting to improve after about my second run!

As usual I'm a little late to this party. Thanks to everyone who drove before me, cleared off the course, and helped me beat both of my Fastiva-mates! I got progressively faster each run, one more woulda been great, right?!
I sure hope we have the opportunity to use the site again - you all keep your fingers crossed, pray, rub your rabbits foot, whatever...

Big thanks to those who packed the trailer - nothing budged during the tow home. Nice work! :thumbwink:

And speaking of nice work, Dan Estep did some today. He drove all the way over to St. Pete, and let me help him trace down a short in the trailer wiring that was blowing light fuses. Found a pinched wire under a sidelight that finally rubbed through.
Thanks Dan! And I did a little basic cleaning - wiped out coolers, washed all the vests, Lysoled the helmets. And shortly after Dan left, Brian Kollar rode by and helped me repack the trailer. Thsnks, Brian. A good afternoon.

See y'all next time!

Had a blast, I loved the course! I really need to get my ABS fixed. The continual flat spotting of my tires have led to very uncomfortable drives home.

Either fix it, OR... accept that it's broken and don't rely on it!

Finally got around to setting up the Championship Points spreadsheet for the new season.

Points are updated!

Kinda pointless (get it? hah!) this early in the game, but still interesting. Absolutely anything can still happen this early in the game. We'll have 12 points events this season with the three lowest scores being dropped.

Yall need to make some enemies? Personal Competitors?

Jake and I have had a 1 second/lap discount for years. He waits down wind and I put up a number. He bests it by a whole second. I do too. Damn. I coned my last rerun = thought I had a shot? Some day I'll let him sit in the front row and take along a passenger!! OR I'll just stop farting my best runs away so he can't smell a bad run? Just like Ron letting Dave drive his car....DOH. Must have something to do with the 12 OPEN events? I plan on having the option of a trophy in two Classes. S2 and S1. Woohoo. 6 each is doable. See which one you finish higher in? I think I can earn a T shirt again.

Go FAST. Kudo's to David Lineberry running those "lame ass" Michelin SSP tires in S1 (compared to RE71?). Have to respect him for that. If I don't find a set of sticky tires by November I'll be running against him in S1 at airport on even worse tires rated bald at 240? Never know? Will be fun no matter what. Remember I and Tony ran SSP's in S0 last year and it was a lot of fun fighting for 2nd in S0 against Ken. Will be interesting to see what I can come up with in S1 now that the sandbox is history? No intention of messing with Eva and Doug - only burning up some old NOS tires.

At some point I might have Jake and that other "nice" Taxi guy in the BRZ who neither of whom have driven my RX8. That would be cool. To me at least.

Loren you don't know it but EVERYONE wants to know if they get to keep their number AND get a T Shirt in 2017.

You have to live with your fat tires for 220 runs. Poor you. Lucky Soraya and Brian.
