Jason. Haven't you noticed that none of the light "momentum" cars with no torque or HP make tire noise. Open your wastegate 100% and your car will be quiet too

I noticed elliot does that 2 step steering thing. didn't know that was a thing. interesting to see how his driving style and line transposed onto my car. he came up to me when I sawed a second off my time asking me wth I did.

And while I was working course, I happened to see one Camaro driver exercising really poor judgment, doing out-of-control donuts down on the skidpad. Near my car. Really. Poor. Judgment.

Missed that part. I hope someone said something. It would be a shame to not do self-monitored exercises if we can't have faith that people will actually self-monitor.

A nice burnout 180 after a spin on course to get pointed in the right direction we occasionally tolerate, but not deliberate shenanigans.

Note to all: cut it out. At the last event a noob turned some donuts on the way in. We had mercy and let him stay cuz noob and cuz someone vouched for him. But we can go zero tolerance on hooning very easily, and for several solid reasons.

The thing to keep in mind here is that autocross is by definition a "precision driving event". We pride ourselves on car control and precision.

You wanna drift and spin and slide and do donuts, other sports beckon. That's not what we're about.

So what happens if someone hits another person's car in that scenario?

You're on your own. Liability for damage to your own vehicle is all on you. Maybe because you were "parked", your insurance might let you make a comprehensive claim?

This is why we take this stuff so seriously! We want everyone to go home with the same car they arrived in minus some rubber and brake pad material.

I've read insurance companies would drop your policy if they know you do any sort of motorsports like autocrossing/tracking your vehicle. Would you even be covered if you crashed at the event?

So now you know why some people cover up their license plates with tape. A few even use bogus names and car types on entry so they don't lose their warrantees from Subaru or Mitsubishi. Others never post to facebook or utube under their real names.

I've never raced a leased car, rental or one with payments even tho' last I heard State Farm considers autocross a form of "driving school".

My insurance is fine with me racing because, I was told, they cover nothing that happens at the track.

Not likely, but it depends on your insurance company/policy. If you were covered, chances are high that you'd immediately be canceled.

I guess at that point if the damage is high enough it probably be worth to get insurance involved and then go to another carrier after you get canceled. Or could say you were just "spectating" and someone else hit you while you were parked.

If your car was in motion, I'd be willing to bet your insurance would deny the claim outright. If it was parked, and you can prove that you were only registered as a guest, you might be able to make a comprehensive claim. Best strategy is to not damage your car!

And if you get canceled, that goes on record. After that, it might not be as easy (or inexpensive) to get coverage as you think.

OR. You could just buy the "spare" fastiva and trailer it to events with a giant motor and tires

Second best...have a car you can walk away from...one reason I gave up on an Elise...and less so, from a CRZ back to an Insight...

I was about to say that. I heard that a lot taking my motorcycle to the track. I've seen a lot of nice bikes get totaled that way.
