I can say that I think 3-4 would have been a good average number of runs for each segment. And I can say that without saying "I don't like the format". But, live and learn. If we do it again, we'll do it better, that's how it goes. The less experienced people probably would want and could benefit from more runs on some of the segments. (that's why we stuck with 6 on the slalom, and did 5 on the turn-around) The easier elements we did less of.

The "long day" burnout is typical of a school event, which is essentially what this was. We didn't call it that because we didn't have instructors. But, it was a lot like what we would do at a novice school. And we all felt the same way that we do after a school event.

I didn't realize that AC is a "delete" item on the 3 White Focus RS's that we know of. Need icecap for helmet!! I find sometimes shoving my head into the coolers works too

I think 3-4 runs at each segment with 2 runs over the entire course in the morning and 2 runs in the afternoon would be an interesting variation for next time; provided there is a next time and timing is working.

Awards for most consistent, most improved, and fastest combined runs.

I think 3 or 4 for each element is enough to get a decent time and not become tedious. One more run on the course would have been good. I missed the 2-3 shift on both my full runs. Something that never came into play on the individual elements. Tried the shift in 2 different places and failed both times. Would have liked to see what 1 solid run would have timed. Would have needed a whole second to match my segment times. Doubt I lost that much, but would have been closer at least.

Something to consider if we do this again: We need to keep the grid format the same as we do at every other event.
A line formed as everyone cycled through, which made things go quickly, but it is very frustrating to be sitting in line inching forward a car at a time only to have 4 or 5 people sit in the grid area resting and keeping their car cool and just jumping into line wherever they feel like it. if there is a line, everyone should be in it or there should be no line. Sliding in front of people waiting in line is bullshit.

Yeah, grid was a bit disorganized. Partly due to not enough workers and hoping non-novices could police themselves. Which, arguably, they did, by simply forming a line. 4-second runs doesn't leave much time for a "regular" grid with so few cars.

And, perhaps defensively, as one of "those" people, we were sharing a car, and needed to get through the line double-time to not fall behind. Under the circumstance, had no choice but to cut in. Hopefully that was the case for the others, too...

Yeah, 3 late-cancels plus 4 no-shows erased any hope of us having grid workers for this event. We had 29 drivers. The plan was for 36. Would have made a huge difference in areas such as that.

the others were people who was always ran behind on their runs, re runs, and me because I had to take over for ron.

if it makes you feel better Ron and I worked mobile timing in the sun all day, expect for lunch of course.
