Has anyone tried these tires? I love the RE-71's but they only come in a 40 aspect ratio while the S-01's get me back to a 45.

Looks like Tire Rack is running a sale on them.

It's an "Ultra High Performance" tire, not an "Extreme Performance" tire. If you're looking to autocross on it, bear that in mind. It won't be a top-tier tire.

Push Harder - Drive as close to the limit of your tires as possible.
Suck Less - Drive something resembling a proper racing line.

Very true, plus it's a 140 putting me in R1. Just trying to find a tire in a 45 aspect ratio that works with my current wheels. This car thing gets expensive!

Between the RE71, RivalS, RS4, and Nexans. Lots of choices.

Just none in a 255/45 17. I can get to 45 if I go down to 245's, but don't want to do that. The Cobra's just look better with 50/60 series rubber, the wheel wells are huge.

"Made it past all the “stock” qualifiers? Good, now let’s look at your tires. This is simple. If they are DOT approved and their treadwear rating is 140 or greater (check the sidewalls), we consider them street tires. (NOTE: A handful of cars come from the factory with tires that do not meet this qualification. It’s a big deal to us! If your tires have less than 140 treadwear, sorry, you can’t compete in a street tire class.)"

140 treadwear, for FAST, does not put you in a race tire class... So if you want to try these tires, but won't because you don't want to be in R1, your worries are over!

"...this tire was selected by Ferrari as an OE tire for the F348!" One person's quote from the owner's review at TR. True?

Good price. If they are phasing them out you might be screwed if one is ruined by road trash down the road?
