December 2 - FAST Classic @ Brooksville

Postby Loren » Sun Nov 19, 2017 2:11 pm

You might not believe this, but we haven't had a plain ol' Brooksville Classic since March! Lots of Open events, and some Special Events, but not Brooksville Classics. We do like variety.

We'll be doing a separate skidpad element this time that you can run in your off run group. Don't forget to bring your tire pressure gauge, and buy, beg or borrow a pyrometer!

This is a Classic event, which means fewer entries, more runs and no formal novice instruction. We do require all entrants to have competed in at least 5 prior autocross events so that they sort of know what they're doing (or enlist an experienced sponsor).

We'll be providing lunch for all registered drivers and guests at this event.

Registration is open until November 27. Get on it!

This event is at Brooksville, so pre-registration is required for ALL drivers and guests.

December 2 - FAST Classic @ Dunnellon

And here's the course. It's another reused course from my grab bag of awesome courses. I remember designing this one. It's an unapologetic exercise in slaloms! It begins with a simple 60' slalom, then a 100' offset slalom, a 75-to-50' decreasing slalom into the turn-around. The return side starts with a MORE offset 100' slalom with decreasing offset, goes into a fast bit interrupted by a short 75' offset slalom (think about this the next time you see a Chicago box), finishes with a big ol' offset kink to scrub some speed and a happy blast through the finish.

Easy. :thumbwink:

Why does the thread title say Dunnelin when the subject seems to be Brooksville?

Never been at an event with a skidpad. Whats the rule on that? Just drive it whenever you aren't running/working?

This will be the Sara Tinsley special birthday event, if someone can pick up a cake for lunch I will be happy to pay extra for it. I will have a tire pyrometer with me at the skid pad, so come on bye for as quick check of temps.
