Steve and I have spent a fair amount of time shopping lately!
Instead of repairing our generator (again), we opted to replace it with a better one. We couldn't get ourselves to spring for the "holy grail" of generators (Honda), but we found a reasonable price on a brand name generator that will hopefully hold up longer than the generic one that we had.
We're also buying some new coolers, and still on the hunt for some sturdy tables. All of that stuff is at least 15-20 years old, and has served us well!
If you weren't paying attention, you might have missed that we replaced our 7-year-old laptop last year. Earlier this year we replaced our ratty old PA speakers. And just recently we bought a new set of kick-ass radios.
We're doing our best to keep up with the equipment and ammenities that keep our events running smoothly and pleasantly!
When the weather cools down, we'll probably try to arrange a trailer clean-up day. We're due for that. Need to take EVERYTHING out, pitch the trash and junk, clean stuff, repair stuff, inventory stuff... and be good for another year or so.

Just out of curiosity, since you say you bought a "name brand" generator, you did not get one of these: https://www.harborfreight.com/engines-g ... 62523.html?

No, we bought a Generac.
And Steve bought us some new coolers, and actually found some tables. A lot of stuff that's been on our wish-list for a while!
We're going to be pitching all of the old coolers. I might take one of the mid-sized ones for occasional home use. But, if anyone wants a large, fairly beat-up old cooler, let us know.

That's close to what we paid, Dan. Not a bad price for a Yamaha.

Those coolers aren't that beat up other than the busted hinges. You know you can buy replacement hinges for those things cheap, right?Loren wrote:We're going to be pitching all of the old coolers.

Then you can buy some and re-purpose them, Dave.
If Dave doesn't want to take on his own challenge, I bet if we just leave them out there with a 'free' sign on them, someone will make use of them.

Most of them are cracked, missing plugs, one has a cover that fills with water when it gets rained on, and, um, oh, the hinges are busted.Blue_Heron wrote:Those coolers aren't that beat up other than the busted hinges

We've been using most of those coolers for 15+ years. The one Doug and Eva donated a few years ago is surely the nicest of the bunch. I'd take that one myself, but it's way bigger than I'll ever need.
Anyway, when we do things, we like to do it right. We're just buying a full set of matching new coolers so that we'll have exactly what we need... and we won't be lugging around 3 extras that we don't need, etc.
Sometimes it's worth spending the money. Everybody likes new stuff!

So put your dick or thumb in it like you won't get lucky with these coolers Dude. Go fishing and sink to the bottom of the bay instead. Life sucks and then you die.
