Go-Karting On The 29th ( This Wednesday )

Postby Carracer » Mon Aug 27, 2018 9:48 am

Offseason karting anyone?
Where:
Tampa Bay Grand Prix (Brandon)
3404 Cragmont Dr, Tampa, FL 33619
When:
Wednesday the 29th - 7:30 pm is when I'll show up but we won't get stuff rolling until 8:15 pm.
Cost:
They have a "Grand Prix" package, $48 per person. 12 lap practice, 14 lap qualifying, 16 lap race. Could be fun might have to meet a minimum number of people. We could do instead the standard $45 ( -$5 if you already have a "licence" ) pack of 3 X 14 lap time trials.

Posted this on the FAST Facebook group and have 4 people "in" and 6 "interested/maybes". It was a lot of fun last time and trying for a weeknight this time for a quieter and more open track.

Unfortunately have a "thing" at 7pm that will probably take 2 hours whether I like it or not, maybe I'll come spectate,

Darn, we will likely be doing this again, hopefully we can find a time that works for more people, this was a bit last minute.

This is tonight, most of the "maybes" are now in plus a few more people. Feel free to just show up, no reservations, it's not official or anything.

That is a fantastic value. My kids paid $50 for me to race against them last year in two heats of 8 laps each. That is way too exhausting of a cardio for an oldie. One heat was plenty with a 1st place but they only counted the fastest lap and not the average. I was sucking wind bigtime after 4 laps in the second heat but still finished 2nd. The place I was at would cut back your power for a few seconds if you contacted anyone. Addictive fun. Real race rubber too. :thumbwink:
