I mean, it's not a LOT more in the front. You're prolly not gonna die.

Setting up my Miata
I'm not sure you want more camber in the front vs. the rear. The norm for Miatas used to be a half degree more in the rear, but I think that was partly due to the typical front limitation of around -1.5 degrees, and not wanting to promote an "oversteery" alignment to the general public. Running a lot closer to the same all around seems to be more typical for Miatas, especially modded Miatas. But, I think having MORE in the front could make it looser than you want it to be.

Hmm, that's the second Miata with bent ball joints.Magooiii wrote:So.....2 new ball joints and boom -2.0 camber in front -1.9 in rear. Test drive reveals what everyone said. Camber = mm,mm,mm, good. Looking forward to small tweaks for the season. Thanks everyone for you advice and guidance.![]()

I was thinking the same thing. We used to always just accept that "some Miatas can get more camber than others". Now I'm wondering just how prone to bending those ball joints are!

And the sample size is only 10-12 Miatas, pretty high failure rate.Loren wrote:I was thinking the same thing. We used to always just accept that "some Miatas can get more camber than others". Now I'm wondering just how prone to bending those ball joints are!

OE, or any good NEW manufacturer. Remans are a very mixed bag.
Try any of the Miata race suppliers. They're not gonna sell junk to go on a Spec Miata.

Really no reason not to go OE, because Mazda makes it very easy.Magooiii wrote:Ok so......

Go to https://store.mazdamotorsports.com/weba ... &langId=-1. Click on the "I race with within the U.S., Canada, or Mexico," button, and work your way through signing up for the Mazda Team Support Program. Costs $0. Yes, they consider FAST autocross results as valid as any other event results. Then you can order stock parts from them at a big discount...less than you can usually get cheap aftermarket parts. The only down-side is shipping isn't cheap, so try to forecast ahead and bundle your orders. Anyone competing in a Mazda product should be taking advantage of this.
For the near term, I might have an old clutch master cylinder with a rebuild kit I haven't used...I believe they're the same for NA and NB 5-speeds. I'll look when I'm out at the shop tomorrow. Can't help with the brakes...mine has bigger brakes, so the brake MC is different.

Thanks Jamie
They both have the "lifetime warranty" but I am tired of changing them every six months I will get on the Mazda site and get them ordered. but meanwhile I will go get another set of weak re-manufactured ones.
