The 2 day scheduled location is at SPC. We don't need 2000' of cable.Charles wrote:Kenny can confirm but I think we are covered there.......Jeremy wrote:Get 2000 ft of cable. Use entire width of runway.
And no, we don't have 2000', we have, IIRC, 1100.
Oh, and I talked with Carl tonight and told him I would be glad to co-chair and make him do all the work. Jeremy, I do like your idea of adding the times together from the 2 days.

Rock on, Kenny!I talked with Carl tonight and told him I would be glad to co-chair and make him do all the work.
By the way, one day's lunch is already planned.

I'm down with that pizza for one of the days as well. That blew Domino's and Papa Johns out of the water...
I do have some bad news though. My co chair will be 100% required to take over the event if I cannot make it. It looks like I may be taking a new job, and that means I may have to work the Saturday of the event, but I would still have off Sunday... I'm just sayin...

March 8th, 2008 we had 51 drivers at B'ville.
March 9th was the invitation only enduro-cross, 22 showed.
No problem with those numbers. Also not sure if that's the same weekend you are referring to.
If folks choose to go to Sebring, that's fine. More runs for the rest of us.

Since most people had an interesting time at St Pete this past weekend, is there anything in specific that people would like to try this time? Maybe a simple 30 second course that we could have a couple of cars on at a time and try to bang out 7 runs?
I'm still interested in ideas for the second day..
And if you have some suggestions as to how I can edit the course map to reflect a few track ideas I have, I would like that as well...

I am always available to critique course designs.

The key to a fun and fair course is minimum gate widths and gradually slowing people down and speeding them up. One or two hard stops and starts is OK, but a lot of straights into hairpins into straights gets old and favors the big HP cars.

FWIW, I did my last course map in MS Word. Just paste in the blank course map, turn on the drawing tools, and you can use the line tool to create and move around nifty curved lines. It'll also do circles that you can fill with orange to represent cones. Simple and easy... and everyone has it.
I used to do them with Corel Draw, the tools were very similar, but since that's all I ever use Corel for any more, I didn't bother reinstalling it with my new hard drive. You can do the same stuff with Adobe Illustrator, but they make everything so damned complicated that I never have been able to figure it out.

I do my Brooksville courses in Photoshop (it's what I have), since I can group course features and then adjust the spacing easier.Loren wrote:FWIW, I did my last course map in MS Word. I use the hell out of Photoshop, but don't like it for this kind of thing. Working with "objects" is much easier than working with "layers".Alizarin wrote:I do my Brooksville courses in Photoshop (it's what I have), since I can group course features and then adjust the spacing easier.
But, really, it's whatever you're comfortable with. Pencil and paper works if that's what you're comfortable with!

Do we have a blank course map for Brooksville? I had an idea for a course I wanted to try. Some of it would be evil!Loren wrote:SPC Blank Course Map
Or, how big is each pavement block and how many blocks wide and long before we are into the really bad pavement?
The Jag complains about autoX by throwing Gearbox Faults.
I think it is just lazy.

At Brooksville, the blocks are 25x12.5, you've got 150 feet of width, and probably 2000 feet of length. Only thing I'm not sure of is where the off-course obstacles are.
