Hi Justin, welcome to the FAST message board. 8)

We're always looking for people to pitch in and help with making the day run smoothly. There's a list of "duties" on page one of this thread that need filling, mind you that most require you to be there by 8am or even earlier. So pick a duty and I'll pencil you in, but please let me know if for some reason, later on, that you might not be able to make it.

Or just show up at 7am and you can help out Bill and I get the trailer and course set up and see what's involved with being a Chairperson. Though just helping us out might not count as a "work assignment" for the day, so you may have to work the course.

Thanks, Brian, Co-Chair

Justin (and anyone else interested in getting more involved), check out the How Can I Help section of our website. You'll find the event chairman guide in there somewhere. Lots of good info there.

Willemina tells me I've picked a bad weekend to chair an event. She is going to be out of town (which I knew) but if she was in town she would cater BBQ!

She recently apprenticed to a BBQ place doing an event for 250 people and we've been practicing every week or two since. Last weekend we did apple smoked pork shoulders which really came out excellent, although we decided we prefer hickory smoked -- the hickory taste says "BBQ" to us.

Catering a group as small as FAST is nothing to her; she used to be the assistant chef in a small French restaurant (it would seat about as many as we get at our events) and has catered groups about twice that size before.

Maybe the May chairman might want to talk with her about BBQ. She will be gone June, July and August to run our B&B and maybe open a BBQ next door (we own that lot too).

I can Vouch For Willemina's Food. She is an awesome cook.. If I had food like that every day I'd eat myself into a coma. +1 vote here.

Jeff, you insult her by merely calling her a cook. My wife is a chef ... an artiste!

I will not be able to make this one. I'll be driving back from Atlanta that day after a weekend of robotics. :?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will finally be able to make an event again. Each thing I fix on my car leads to another. Clutch and flywheel done, water pump done, steering rack started puking, so that was next, and now done. Still have to get limited slip rebuilt, on sharp turns it sounds like it's full of corn flakes. And, now that I have a working clutch, it is clear that my azenis' are no longer willing to cooperate with the road surface in a helpful way, so new tires are in short order. whew. I don't think I've missed an event in 2 or 3 years, so It's weird not being involved, but may as well get everything that I've been putting off done all at once.

I'll be there, driving the Integra this time. It's been a long time since I've autocrossed a FWD car :P

Put me down for whatever, setup, reg, etc.

Yay, maybe I won't be running the Integra. Just finished front wheel bearings, new studs, brakes, etc.. now it has a click in the drivers front somewhere.. annoys me since it's been impossible to troubleshoot so far (axles seem to be fine, pads aren't rattling, axle night is torqued, wheels are torqued, bearing rotates fine and without noise, car doesn't make the noise when off the ground, etc..).

Ugh.. worse case I'll steal Nate's Miata or something (or maybe I'll even ask first if I can drive it..)

More importantly, only 7 days left to register, and only 14 people on the list! We're missing both event chairs, the course marshal, one of the setup guys...is there an unofficial competition this year for who can register last? This is Brooksville. Outrage, pleading e-mails, threats to hold your breath until you turn blue...10 pm on 9 April is a hard deadline. The airport requires the access roster by the Friday a week before the event -- that's the 10th, in this case -- and once it's in, we can't change it.

Sign me up for run groups and the worker list.
