Yes, you guys are right. The first slalom is off a bit. Apparently, the final draft contained an error that we didn't catch. At any rate, the first slalom will have to be modified during setup to have the cones spaced at 2.5 blocks, or 62.5' each (hence, some pylons on the joints and others on the middle of the blocks). It should be an easy fix during setup and, once corrected, an easy line to follow.

Hey, where's the drive-thru pizza place at the Chicago box?
Just kidding, looks like a fun course. I'm looking forward to driving it.

I have tried to correct the course line and have not succeeded. There is a five cone slalom before the Chicago box. I will make sure a marker cone is placed where the red line is incorrect so everyone will know what the correct line is. I will also have course layout maps for all drivers as well as pointing out the mistake in the drivers meeting. If anyone has other suggestions please bring them to my attention.
Thanks Mike (bama_rebel2000)

Thanks Mike. that all certainly sounds reasonable, and should satisfy everyone.

and besides, unless you are planning on painting a red line on the runway that day, the red line on the map doesn't matter - the cones on the runway do!

Just as a side note for the future. What I like to do for a Brooksville course map is to take the pieces of the template and combine them into one long strip using Photoshop. That way I can lay out the course, draw the lines, etc, then chop it back up for public consumption. It helps me in the layout process, too.

58 entries?!

Like several others, I've been waiting patiently to have a chance to register for the February event. The 50 spots filled fast...real fast. Then, a consensus was made open five additional spots with the reduction of allowable guests. Unfortunately, I wasn't sitting at a computer when the short window of opportunity for those spots was open. (I missed out, but it was fair.) Therefore, I am periodically checking to see if anyone has unregistered. I'm sure I'm not the only one in this boat, but how does 50+5=58? That is the current registered entrants. Is this an error or were additional spots opened? If additional spots are opened, Please be fair to everyone! ...such as a friendly post, etc.

A few guests dropped out, and I had the opportunity to open the list again, very briefly. Scanning the list, though, John Edwards has you down as a guest...no reason we can't convert that to a driver slot.

The 75-person limit is a huge PIA...we're figuring out ways of dealing with it as we go along. Note we set the ratio at 60 / 15 for the March event. Hopefully that will work better....if not, we'll go with 75 / 0.

As a reminder: registration for March is open!! 21 entries at this time -- get in there and register!

It's still funny to me. We never had more than 55-60 entries at Brooksville... ever. Until we put a hard cap on it. The law of supply and demand at work?

Anyway... yeah, the 75-person cap is a pain... but events with more than 60 entrants are a bit of a pain, too. They quickly lose their "casualness" beyond that point.

I'm not sure what the solution is going to be for us. But, I hope it's not to keep making our events larger and larger. :(

Thanks, Jamie. If a conversion is possible, that would be great. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make the March 8th event.

I put the auto-x rims on the car tonight, with the new Azenis, to get them scrubbed in a little and get all that mold release carp off the gripping surface. Took a quick spin around the block and I like what I feel. Feels like good grip even new, nice turn-in. I didn't go looking for some sharp curves (it was literally a spin around the block), but I did take some corners a little faster than normal to give them a test.

It'll be good to have some "real" tires for once. See you all on Sunday

I wish Azenis would fit my S2000 AP1 wheels. Eventually I'm going to have to buy autoX wheels for it I suppose.
The Jag complains about autoX by throwing Gearbox Faults.

After a little more aggressive corners this morning on the way to work, I have to say that the back end doesn't squirm as much as it did before. I am pleased :D

Bill, I assume by your comment that they don't make Azenis in the right sizes for your S2k wheels? I actually find that somewhat surprising.

That's correct. They make some that work on the AP2 wheels ('04 on) but not the AP1. I have an '03.

AP2 wheels are expensive!

Someday I'll look into what alternatives to Honda AP2 wheels there are.

I just sold my AP2 wheels ($800 with fuzion zris @ an estimated 70% after Sunday :P), they are still on the car for the next week and a half until my ce28ns come. :D

I am looking for AP2 wheels too. Been searching ebay, but they are all too expensive or too curbed.

I heard something about '05+ Subaru STi wheels being a good alternative.
I think they are 17 X 8 +50something
