Allowing captains to choose sandlot style is not a good idea - nobody wants/likes to be picked last. A random assignment of some sort seems more reasonable, whether by captains or by Mr. Chairman.

I was leaning toward having the captains pick names from a box. The only reason to pick sandlot style is that it tends to keep the teams more even than a random draw, although they are already seeded to a degree.

If Bob isn't driving on Saturday, replace him with Sam Sculerati

When you set things up, remember Sam and I are sharing a car.

As long as you aren't on the same team there is no problem

Looking forward to testing out my new rubber as well. Got them right after the last event and am dying to shed some of that new deep tread off.

And the SunPass system is running on the QNX4 operating system. I was the senior designer for QNX4 and began the project which became QNX4! :D

Dang, that was over 20 years ago!

Also, I didn't sign up for this weekend. My rear tires are completely shot; not corded but into the wear bars after only 8 months, and it is my wife's birthday - I'm hoping to take her away for the weekend. I guess I had a choice, spend money on tires and autoX or spend money on my wife's birthday. There will always be another autoX.

Glad to hear a lot of people got some new rubber.
On a seperate note, did you get XS again? You might wanna try Direzzas, I have tried those and XS and a lot of different Extreme performance tires including the old RE-01Rs but so far I like Direzzas the best! I got new Direzza rears and am going to try to finish my fronts this weekend so I can replace front XS with Direzza too. Also, Direzza handle way better in rain. XSW got 1 out of 10 in wet autocross and Direzzas got a 7 or 8 I think!! :o

I got Dunlops also. 255 all around. First time driving on non-staggered tires. Hopefully it's not too loose.

What was your setup before? Wasn't it 275s all around?
I am sure you will love the tires, although it tends to oversteer a little with 255s all around from all that I know. I know people who disconnect their rear sway bars to make it a little better. Either way it should be fun. Is it Friday yet? lol

I had 245/275.

The fourth seed will run the first seed, the second and third seed will run, and winners in the final. The upper seed will have choice of who runs first. The faster seed will have the difference in the average times added to their time. In other words, for the runoff the winner will be the team that beats their times by the most not necessarily the fastest raw time. This is similar to the singe start pro solo rules. This will keep things more even between teams in the final.
So, you want to sandbag and still get in 4th spot. Got it.

You might want to have this all written down on paper to display at the event. Some (most) people might not get it. I just had to read it several times and I think I understand now.

Depending on the final decision for how things will be run (which can eliminate the chutes), the software help file does indicate that it can be run in lapping mode with both beams.
Sending cars in Groups: - The easiest way to run a lapping session is to send several cars in a group onto the course. The start and finish will be triggered in a consecutive fashion. Each group completes their runs before the next group is sent onto the course. With respect to timing, this method expects X starts and X Finishes to occur, otherwise a timing error will occur. Special control must be expected if a car breaks or can't finish it's run (and thus not generate a Finish). In this case the respective Reset Stop Watch button must be executed.
I can set up the number of laps (1 in this case) for the number of cars (3? 4?) and can time each lap or total time. I don't know how this would look in the staging grid though (no screenshots in the help file). Just some extra info.

You can try to sandbag for fourth. But if you are in the first group, you may be passed by any of the second group teams. If you have the last run and are in fourth than you can dump your last run safely.
