Reckon it couldn't hurt to charge it up. While I've got your attention, could I impose on your good nature to do the novice guide gig on Sunday?
Sure.[/quote

Great!

Jamie,

Where do we stand on work assignments? Did anyone volunteer for timing/trailer setup?

Lunch is covered, by the way. I made the uninspired decision to have pizzas delivered from Papa John's. (St. Pete's not my turf, I didn't know what else to do.) They're bringing a bunch of pies at noon.

Hear that, people? Bring antacid!

Yeah, it's going to be really hard to find a 5 speed power retractable hard top. Most were touring and grand touring models. They don't even offer the prht in the sport model any more. In a few months to a year some sport prhts will probably show up as more people's 3 year leases run out. Just remember that you can't get an lsd with the 5 speed. If you want one you'll have to add one yourself later like I did.

Good job John!

Pizza is a GOOD CALL ! Though many people may say pizza is "getting old", it's still a good choice, never heard any complaints when we've had it. And if anyone "complains", then they should've stepped up for the lunch duty. (yeah that's right, i said it) Yellow_Colorz_PDT_08

Please don't get 12 more cases of water. We already have some and folks won't want near as much as during summer. Just get enough to brring us up to a total of 10 cases. That'll be plenty. Besides, SPC has this cool thing called a water fountain...wouldn't it be cool if folks just refilled?

Run groups and work assignments are drafted out, at least as much as they can be for SPC. (The rest of you don't start spamming me with questions...the drafts aren't worth the paper they're written on until 9am) No one volunteered to empty out the trailer, but it'll get done with the hands we have. Loren will probably have to set up the new-fangled wireless timing, since most people haven't seen it before. Jeremy's bringing the laptop (and the timer?!), presumably with the event file loaded up...we'll be fine.

Yeah, I'll bring the new timer and set it up. Should take all of 5 minutes. 8)

Oh, I have to load a USB driver on the computer. Maybe 6 minutes.

I sent Kenny a pm about the old timing equipment, thought we should have it on hand just in case. Is it critical?

Is someone bringing the event file? I don't have one.

Would be good to have, but it (hopefully) shouldn't hold up the event. If all else fails, there's always WalMart across the street for stopwatches.

But, I'm pretty confident in the new timer. Even if the PC interface fails for some unknown reason, we can use the new timer and write times down the old-fashioned way. (a lot of the old-timers still argue that doing times manually is faster and more reliable than all the hassles that go with using a computer... sometimes they're right!)

I'll try to get there early enough to help with the trailer. I'm interested in seeing that new timer set-up in action.

Sounds like a plan, Ron. I'm not gonna be too early, myself. 8-8:30 so that I can do safety on the course. If you're there, I can give you the 5-minute show-and-tell and you can set the timer up while I check the course!

Same here. I just got the old system figured out and learned all it's tricks, so I'm interested to see how this new system works.

MyAutoEvents is not currently responding for me. What are the pertinent times for the morning?

gate opens at 7
don't be there any later than 8:30
sign in closes 9
drivers meeting around 10
first car out ASAP after that

If it isn't too late, we need AA batteries - a pack of 2 or 3 dozen...

Unless they've been lost, there was a new unopened package of AA's bought for the last event. I wanted them on hand for Sunday, but we ended up not needing them.

Unfortunately, I am not going to make it out tomorrow. I was signed up for track set up. Hopefully someone can step up and help Steve out with this. I apologize for the late notice. This was totally unforeseen.

I'm sure this will have an impact on the points race in H class, but at least things will be interesting.

Sorry guys. See you in December.
