Like Steve said, these are awards, even though these awards are just stickers, they are still trophies to a lot of drivers.

Everything considered, how long does it really take to pass out the awards? Yes, come Saturday, I'll be passing out more than the usual amount of awards, but I've condenced them to one envelope per person for all 3 events.

As far as the awards being presented right after the the event, I don't think it would work any better. After a long day, most people just want to get home, plus sometimes a couple drivers need to be moved into a different run group before the points become "official".

Like I've said before, how much time will this cost us to hand them out after the drivers meeting? (5 minutes tops?) I really don't want this to be an issue, I'll do what ever is the "best way", just let me know. My 2¢

I think it's all part of "the game" and don't mind sitting around watching people collect their well-earned awards. Just trying to present ideas because someone seemed to think it was an issue. Don't even remember who.

The simple fact is that we're glad you're tracking points and awards for us, and however YOU would like to handle handing them out is fine... we'll deal with it. 8) That's the way it goes. The guy who volunteers to do the job that nobody else wants gets to call the shots! (sort of like event chairman/course design, really)

Handing out awards at the end of the day is better in my opinion. The results are more relevant at that time.

I might actually pay attention during the awards ceremony if it were at the end of the day. The way it is done now is kind of awkward and meaningless. Who cares about results that have been posted on the internet for a month, let's race NOW.

It would be awesome to have the rewards at the end of the day. However, I think it's going to be more trouble than it's worth. Like Brian said, what happens if someone isn't classed right, who is going to tally all the tims up at the end of the day... It would mean a lot more work for the people who already volunteer to do it.

I agree, though it is a major departure from how our events have been running.

Another good thing about "making" people stick around until the end is that we can all go out for a bite somewhere afterwards before heading home. What the hell are ya gonna do at home anyway, just grumble until Kenny posts the results?

I'm planning on heading north to Inverness after the event and shooting some lead into a hill and throwing some horse shoes. (maybe even at the same time :shock: )

i think the awards should be done following the event, it will make people stick around and will make people feel like the won something.
i also agree it will make people meet up after the event is over to talk, eat, ? ect.
i also think it is worth spending the 5 min this mo to do the awards for the past few events. my 2 cents!

3.5. FIREARMS AND WEAPONS
3.5.1. For the purpose of this section, a firearm means any weapon, including a starter gun,

weapon on the Airport, and further excepting when such firearm or weapon is
properly encased for shipment in compliance with all applicable shipping rules and

watchmen and guards on the Airport.

Does someone check the campers?? I bet not.

Looks like the remedy is a "cease and desist" order, from looking at the "Penalty" section of the Rules. Of course, there could be other statutes or ordinances that could apply.....

I smell an attorney.

I'm going to have to miss tomorrows event. Looks like a nice layout too.
Brian and I got my clutch in and after some minor clearancing, it's happy. Unfortunately I found fluid coming from the weep hole of the water pump, so that will have to be replaced. That explains the squeal I've been hearing when it first starts up.
All should be done for March, so I'll need a credit for next month.
Thanks for the ride-share offer Loren, I would have taken you up on it if it weren't for the water pump.
