Had an awesome time. I loved the course, I just need to learn how to be faster lol

I took some pics, some with a camera before it died, the others with my Droidx, so it is what it is lol

Boy am I glad I didn't have to get up and go to work today like some folks!! Whew.

Was a nearly perfect weekend weatherwise and things flowed smoothly. Jobs well done by many. I learned a great deal this weekend.

Supplies inventory:
There were 3 packs of soda (pepsi I think?) left.
There were 6 full cases of water left.

1. Suggest that anyone starting generator first check the oil level. When I checked it Sunday morning it was down nearly 1/2 quart. Solution: "Always make sure there is one RX8 running. They always carry extra oil."

2. Consider making a "gymkana" style (fun) event a yearly "points" event. It is a great chance for folks who normally don't finish high to "shine". Jeremy was like 11th and I was 12th. It's alot harder than it looks!! Also much more fun than most of us imagined. I do believe Joe Baker can slalom faster/smoother in R than D:)

Thanks to everyone for making this yet another great FAST event.

Loren "found" a couple of metal poles with large nail anchors on the side of the parking area. They are now in the trailer at Howard's place.

Scott, would these belong to you? If you need them before the next event and you can't make it there I can go recover them and bring them to my house.

Yeah, man-- two-day autocross jags make for a painful Monday morning. It's withdrawals, I think.

Discussion I heard post-event: The inventory of the tech box will be revised to include extra fluids (oil, ATF, brake fluid etc.) so we don't have to rely on the rotary guys to bail us out.

That stuff was there when we got there, not mine. But thanks for looking out for me!

Another fun event. I loved the course although I think I took down my yearly supply of cones in one day :)

Glad you got that out of your system in Brooksville. Can't be hitting cones at SPC any more. LMAO!

Thank you to Doug and Loren and everyone else for a fun event. It was really great to see everyone after being away for a few months.

The course layout was outstanding! It had a really good mix of fast and slow.

I have a couple of editorial comments, which are really just meant for future reference, and mostly directed toward our rookie autocrossers (whom I appreciate very much!)

1. When the green flag drops, and the starter says, "Go!", I'll take off when I'm ready. I had one occasion when my passenger had a loose object. It took a few seconds to stow it. Meantime, the Starter's blood boiled. I could see and hear the rage. Chillax.

2. I worked timing in the second heat. Please observe proper radio etiquette as described in the driver meeting. Press the button, say station number, car number and number of cones, and please speak slowly and enunciate. Wait for the trailer to acknowledge, and then the next cone can be called in. I don't know what the problem was for some of the stations, but it sounded like Charlie Brown's teacher talking really fast. And it wasn't just me, Jeff couldn't understand a thing either.

Perhaps the 1st and 2nd run group cars were simply going so fast the camera couldn't capture it... Just a theory

That must be the case, since over the two and a half years running with fast, I've got a whopping four pics of my car on course! :chuckle:

Paint it red. Red cars get more attention.

You should have pointed at him a laughed. Then, adjust your chinstrap, cough, then go.
Oh, and poke yourself in the solar plexus for saying chillax

Great course. Needed good timing and good placement, but mainly, grip it and rip it!

I was sweating a little, but I did it. I beat FRED!

Had a great time! The course was lots of fun, good mix of fast and slow (that's what pushed John Evans to the ledge!). Absolutely beat after such a long weekend.

Oh, if you want pix of your car on course you need to talk to Jamie. Ask him to schedule your run group to be when Greg Rojna isn't driving or working. Thanks for the great pix, Greg! :thumbwink:

Not this time...I let someone else have the glory and extra pay that comes with doing work/run assignments this time, and was but a lowly course worker (for two #$%^&* hours...that won't happen to the course workers next month!).
