Never hurts to have extra. Its June, after all.

As we are approaching the scorching hot time of the year I'm going to suggest split sessions during the summer. 4 runs in the morning for everyone and however many we have time for after lunch. This gives everyone dry runs in the morning as well as limits our course workers to only baking for ~45mins-1hr at a time. I don't know about everyone else but I surely don't drive my best immediately after baking on the course for ~2hrs at a time.

Reminds me that I think we could really use one more cooler for water especially during these summer months. Seems like we have been limited on the amount of ice and/or water we could keep cold at any given time. If no objections I'll find us a cheap one.

I can bring a spare cooler. 8)
I prefer three run/work groups. No one must run immediately after they work and everybody gets a break during the day. If we run 2 work groups, I absolutely agree that each group should run once in the morning, then again in the afternoon.

I do take the weather into account when making up run groups, and it's probable we'll go to split groups for the next event. My goal has been to keep workers out no longer than 90 minutes -- in hotter weather, even that's too long.

I think me and Billy can work registration again if it's available. I'll confirm with him and post back.

I can pass off registration - I'll be there early so once I do I can come help set up, too.

I'm all for 4 morning 4 afternoon runs from Jun 1 - Oct 1.
3 run/work groups is just way too much time eaten doing nothing other than shuffling people, IMO. Especially at Brooksville.

We would be shuffling people one time less if everyone had one run heat with 3 groups, compared to two groups with two run heats in the morning and afternoon. Perhaps we should start earlier to avoid the rain.

I fully understand the need to not leave courseworkers out in the heat for too long. But, FWIW, I hate splitting my runs up (ok, I feel better, now).

We tried something new recently and at first I thought I would hate it, but I ended up really liking it and it's possible we'll do it for the rest of the summer.
4 competition runs in the morning, have lunch, and then fun runs the rest of the day. This way no one gets screwed by afternoon showers and people can just have fun in the afternoon, switching cars, riding with people, or just go home if you want.
But on the splitting runs topic, I really like splitting runs between morning and afternoon, because it also gives you a chance to analyze your runs, talk to people about lines to take, and walk the course again during lunch. You will definitely learn more about driving this way.

I agree with this above quote; plus everyone will at least get some runs in if it does get rained out in the afternoon.

Doesn't reg close for this event on Friday May 25th?
If so, this is a reminder for those that haven't registered.. as of now only 38 reg'd.

I'll probably jinx the whole group, but in the 2 or 2-1/2 years I've been at it, it's rained once, for about 10 min...other times it's drizzled a bit, but not enough to not evaporate once it hit the ground.
Splitting runs breaks my rhythm - I'm better without a break. YMMV.
If the event chair wants to limit runs to just the morning, he can, I suppose, but I'd prefer to see more timed runs, especially if the weather report is good. We all give and take rides and swap cars, anyway, and anyone can leave, anytime they are ready (as long as they've worked...

)
Unless it's changed, registration closes June 1 (which is really May 31). Got another week to go. Chatter on the boards is nil...maybe we can talk it up a bit?
