I like the reverse course day idea .

P.S.- I think my seat is still a little too wide.

There are a lot of fun sounding ideas posted here.

Regarding the NMC Autocross - I would be okay letting some drive my car, but not anyone. And, more importantly, I wouldn't want to drive someone else's car. If I hurt something I'd rather it be on my car.

I like all the ideas, but the Enduro seems like the best option. It seems like the most favored in this thread.

I'm a fan of whatever is easy to pull-off in the August heat.

Enduro, I missed last years event and am ready to beat the crap out of my car. I guess I better order up that brake ducting! :chuckle:

"bracket-cross" was my first event and I thought that was a lot of fun. I'd also like to try the reversible day and enduro at some point in the future.

Maybe someday. Fred's not in condition for that right now, and I don't have the budget to fix anything that might break. Would be a fun way to do an "IROC", though.

Will either SPC or TBD let us run an autocross at night under the lights?

We did it at SPC once. Problem is, they only let us run until 10pm. Not sure about TBD, but we're not familiar enough with the site yet, either.

There's also the "call your shot" event - two runs to set your dial-in, then 2 or 3 runs, closest to the predicted time is the Grand Master.

I don't really care how it's done as long as it's fun. So I will just throw and idea out similar to Junior's shootouts. Everyone gets 3 runs to learn the course then 1 run eliminations. Cut the field in half after each run. Top 3 get cheesy trophies.
Probably have to limit the entries as it could turn into a long day.

Joe

Edit, Here is how it may work, split into 2 run groups, or 3. You do your 4 runs, only the fourth counts. Break for lunch and begin the final eliminations of those that finish in the top 50% of the morning. It does favor the fastest cars and the best drivers but it would only take 1 cone or 1 overdriven turn to get them eliminated.

I like that, let's forget to tell Scott and Howard about that event though.

For the record, I started this thread asking for opinions on ONE particular idea, which didn't go over well. The thread jumped the shark several days ago and is just rambling at this point.

Traditionally the Chair is the 'decider' on a FUN formatt since they do all the brain work.

Members always vote with their feet. No points normally means no big turnout and lots of runs.

My 2cents.

It really depends on how "unusual" the concept for an event is. And the fact that it's in August is a factor, as well.
