I threw my alignment off too. I was not surprised, as it use to happened more frequently when I first started autocrossing and I overdrove and plowed everything quite often, killing my tires and beating up the car. I did some of that bad driving yesterday. Smh

Pictures, not many, mostly of group 2.

I must say the course was like nothing I imagined. I actually liked the trip back the best, it seemed like on the first half of the track I just never got the timing right. Joshua gave me some great advice but I still never felt like I was doing it close to right until the turnaround.
Not happy with that 74.2, mainly because I think I goofed ( invalided ) on the first slalom exited on the wrong side then having to dodge back around the the pointer cone, based on video evidence. I'm not sure if that is the case because my videos are completely out of order with my runs so I'm not even sure if I was filming that run.
Still a fun day, it was great having another mitata ( Peter ) with a similar setup ( and I think pace ) as mine to run against. I also got a chance to ride in a few cars so that was also fun

I don't know how to imbed videos.
<--- Mod note: Use the "vid" tag Works just like the "img" tag. (requires a "clean" video url, no gallery nonsense)
Here's the first-ever of me, thanks to Jamie.
Y'all feel free to comment, but I'll start:
My door is not fully closed. Don't do that.
Do try to get this close to cones. My faster runs had a much tighter line. For example, this is pretty darn good:
This however, is not so good:
Are you kidding me??? In the middle of my spin on my second run, I momentariy completely let go of the wheel. Kids, that's not a good idea.
The way back was definitely slow-is-fast, and I lost time and blew several runs trying to push too hard when I shouldn't have.

Fret not...your door is really closed. Something about the combination of camera position and the wide-angle lens on the GoPro makes the door gap look like you can ride inside it. The gap looks the same on the videos of my runs, and I
know I closed the door. I've also seen it (on my car) when the door didn't shut entirely, and it moves quite alarmingly!
For your other issues, you have no excuse.

Hey guys! It was nice seeing everyone try the course and even going along for the ride with one of my friends.
I was the one taking photos along the side -- I didn't get everyone (only the first and second groups) but I hope those that did get captured enjoy the results
Here's the link to view the photos on my Flickr page:

You're more than welcome to PM me if you'd like to inquire about purchasing any of the photos.
Thanks for the great fun guys! See you at the next event!

True dat.
If you don't look at the roof, you made my car look like it actually has nice paint. Don't know how you managed that. Are you a witch?

Probably! That's where good lighting comes into play. The slaloms were set up in a perfect location for photos and that's where a lot of the photos were taken

Wow! Great shots.
I think I should talk to you about purchasing one or two, so we can encourage great photography at future events!

Thanks! Camera is a GoPro Hero3 Black. Need to figure out a better mic option for it, though. Sound up on that mounting spot wasn't very good.

The only way I have been able to get wind free quality sound is with an external microphone. I wrap mine in foam and wedge it into a recess in the center console.
My camera is not a gopro but they have adapters to use external microphones.
You will need and adapter like this.

yeah the external mic is the best option for a gopro, I just ended up finding a good deal on a gopro hero 2 without needing to use the adapter, happy with the results

Thanks - I have an adapter that I tried once before...but it just made clicking noises the whole time (probably bc it's a cheap offbrand adapter). Maybe I need to try a real GP one or mess with mine some more.
