I've never been one to turn down runs in cars that I can't afford. Count me in! Drew knows how to drive "fast cars" better than I do, so he'll probably spank me soundly. (This is reverse psychology trash-talking... verbal sandbagging... think it'll work?)

Yes. :thumbwink: Think of this as a perfectly 50/50 balanced V8 Miata with tons of torque and big rubber.

If Loren and Drew want to have a "top level" showdown. I'll volunteer the Vette since Matt is working so doesn't need a ride.

Each will get two runs so it doesn't matter who goes first BUT with proper guidance they will alternate drives.

Right hand pledge: "No FFA (future farmers of America) excursions AND hopefully no direct hit big cones."

I think these two guys are pretty equal from what I've observed and the GreyV8 is a "tie machine" lately.

If you don't show up you won't know the outcome.

If Jeremy comes he can co-drive with me as 119 and I'll bring the sprayer for our sunburned heads. I'm down to 5mm tread and it's getting really sticky now.

It will be a great Sunday for Racing @ Brooksville. I know you're waiting to see the long term weather forecast and they lie.

was the dent in the fender arch from Saturday? when I was working at station1-2 every time that car went by I cringed hearing the cones bouncing off of it.

:headscratch: No idea what you're talking about? Didn't have the Vette there last Sat. Vettes don't "dent".

6 or 7 people raced the shit out of that car. A couple had issues. The only dent in the right rear quarter was there when I bought the car 4 years ago. I left it there as a talisman to avoid more dents. Drew, Loren and I didn't hit much, if anything, in our few runs. Shit happens. It's only a car. A lot of which is aluminum. Yes, the FFA trip was scary but didn't hurt the car at all fortunately. Wax on wax off.

I'm in for both sessions. I can't take enough Saturdays off work to do all the FAST events so figured I'd double up on the Sunday event :-D Gotta get that seat time somehow.
Still pissed (can you say that here? - guess I just did :nope: ) that I had to miss the last classic with the figure eight, it looked like a great course. Anyway, I'll be on the lookout for an instructor to ride along for some pointers on how I'm doing. I suppose this is officially my first event as an "autocrosser" since my novice status expired at the last event, but there's still so much to learn I wish I could keep the novice status a bit longer, now I've got no excuses, except the dog ate my homework, my alarm clock didn't go off, the guys bought another round just as I was about to leave.. honest!....

See you there,
Dan.

We're all still learning, Dan. Novices just have the joy of learning more quickly.

Hey Dan, I should be there for the afternoon event, haven't seen you since the driving school, I would be happy to ride along with you and see your progression from "student to autocrosser". Cheers !

Thanks Brian,

It will be good to see you, hopefully I have learned something ( or applied some of what I learned) since you last sat alongside for the novice school.

Signed up...for the early session, but I want my stickers.

If you hand them out to the PM folks, FAST should have a way to do the same for the early guys.

I'll try my darnedest to clean the course for all. Unfortunately no new turbo yet...

All you have to do is ask. We used to try to give them out at the morning driver's meeting, but we'd usually end up calling 20-30 names to give out 5 stickers, and it's time that nobody wants to take in the morning when a fresh autocross course beckons!

I'm down.
I've always wanted to take a run or two in a Vette. I'll keep her clean, I don't hit many cones. With my less-than-precise car, I tend to give a little more space for ill manners.

Getting a sticker keeps getting harder...the competition has improved skills...so I need more HP.

Hence the reason to pursue my previous podium tags...might not get many more with Mario and Drew, the slalom masters.

Had this stuff for months, but the little beer keg engine keeps on ticking...:
