Only 25 entries? Does that mean 16 runs each?

It generally means having enough workers is a hassle, but otherwise... yeah, possibly more runs. (how much tire do you want to use up?)

If we have less than about 34-36 entries, we'll probably cut back to two run groups. That makes run groups about normal size for a Classic (14-16ish), from there, more runs means longer run groups, which means more time working course, which a lot of people are opposed to. (though it is March, and there is shade)

If we have enough people to do 3 small run groups (36 entries, 3 groups of 12), that's the instance where more runs is really easy to manage.

So, we'll just have to wait and see!

Done! (but, I don't think that was holding anyone back... anyone who's on the forum can find the registration page)

The latest:

We're at 35 entries, and registration is open until Wednesday.

And I'll be co-driving Steve's Miata in M3.

Y'all enjoy yourselves... I'll be working, which really blows because I would have really liked to drive this course. Unfortunately, I can't just call sick.
I am, however, looking forward to the following Saturday at Orange Cty's Convention Center; it looks like the insanity is catching

I was out of town and lost track of autocrossing! Just remembered to reg. With 4hrs to go. Perfect, now I get to finish off my tires! Just curious Loren, if I put on my stock 205/225 all seasons would it put me in a different class than m1? The car is a stock s2000 with lowering springs and 245 rivals all around right now. Thought about putting these old pieces of junk on just for fun and saving my better ones for the next open.

Still M1.
Only M4 is limited to smaller tire size. In M 1-3, skinnies or fatties fit fine .

Am I the only person who realizes that Loren is driving Steve's Phantom Pharaoh car this weekend. Based solely on the polite trash talk  I think they are both having one of their "spells". I'll put my bet on Loren this time. Steve's Mock Pharaoh might get exposed? Watch as the story unravels. Wish FAST allowed runny nosed kids for once.

Doug, this event is at the dog track. You can bring kids out, they just have to stay outside "the ropes", just like at Tampa Bay Downs. In other words, y'all can come watch if you want.

If I can remember how to drive a Miata, I've got a chance against Steve. I always enjoy driving his car... it's got a nice setup.

That Carl guy has a thread for mounting/flipping tires. Everyone seems happy with his work. We are planning to use him for our next set of tires, which is coming up soon. Since we are not driving at the dog track this weekend, we should be good for an extra month. That place really chews up our tires. Or is it just us?

Yeah, Carl can hook you up. He hasn't autocrossed in a while, but he used to be "one of us". He understands your needs and will take good care of you.

The dog track IS a little rough on tires. Of course, any event where you're doing 8 runs with two drivers... that's 16 runs, or the equivalent of four "traditional" 4-run autocrosses! Back in the day, 4 runs was the norm, and not many people did more than about 10 events in a year. We've really amped up the sport of autocross in recent years! More runs, more events. Tires are the biggest casualty. May they rest in peace.

I got in touch with Carl and the van is loaded up for Michelle to drop off in the morning... I'll finally be getting the daily tires for the stock wheels I bought last year mounted too. [emoji15]

Working on my suspension adjustments for tomorrow, and it looks like Loren's bumpstop theory is correct. My bumpstops probably don't have enough clearance; the fronts have about an inch of travel when preloaded, and I haven't looked at them yet, but I bet the rears have the same or less. The plan for now is to raise the car 1/4" to be at 4.75" pinch weld height and add a little more preload and then go get an alignment. I'm probably going to order a better set of bump stops and NB tophats (more clearance than the NA ones) so that I can go back to the lower ride height in the future.
