Just for fun, I took my average finishing speed and converted the 0.004 seconds you beat me by at the last event to a distance. You won by 2.0081 inches. That's pretty amazing!

I've only been at this location once like a year ago. I think I need an early course map so I can start practicing in my bathrub.

Phew, i got one of the last slots in the early session. This should be the event that kills my all season tires. It will also be my first time at this venue; Is there anything I need to prepare for?

Site is more like the dogtrack in Tampa than the airport. Just bigger. And we have easy access to air conditioned bathrooms. And shade.
Just take a good look at the map, know where to enter, and where to park. It's well marked on the map, and you'll see where folks are when you arrive.
Parked cars are a bit out of the way - across a "road" from grid and the course. Plan to not leave anything too valuable laying around. There's security, but also much regular traffic in and out as the betting rooms are open.

Lots of sand and gravel.
And if it has been raining, the occasional water hazard to navigate.
Lawn/leaf blowers are welcome to help clean off the course.

There is some sand. Wind blows it over from the horse track into the parking lot, it is inevitable. Gravel might not be the right word, it's all pretty small particles, not "rocks". Steve is correct, it's very similar to the dog track, just without as much elevation change and without curbs. Also quite a bit larger. And, yeah, the drainage isn't great... there are some "lakes" in the parking lot if it rains!

If you're on all-season tires, all of this is actually helpful for you. Well, it won't help you, but it will reduce the advantage of better tires!
