My first event with GPS data. I built my own little web app so I can analyze my laps on my PC. My optimal lap would be have been about just under half a second faster and even then if I really "cherry pick" sections for the best splits I left more time than that. I'm a little amazed just how much time I leave on the course.

Thank you Steve. I had the camera rolling as you did your runs and it was very helpfully to compare your driving inputs to mine when I got home. I could see all the things you pointed out. Very, very helpful.

So, decision time, do the clutch or get a better car? Get a co drive with someone to finish the season and save some cash?

I had a blast and I have Steve to thank for driving suggestions as it made a difference with each run.

Though not as fun as driving, working station 3 was pretty entertaining. That inside cone at the end of the last turnaround was frequently nudged without penalty, to where I just headed for it every time cars came through . Watching the Fastiva blow through so quickly was fun:)

My fronts are definitely toast and my "street" wheels and tires are going on today. Hope to find some cheap autox replacements for the front or all around, before the next event.

It's potentially a $2-3,000 car with a working clutch. It's a $500 parts car without.

Wow, that was my first AutoX not at Brookesville, and I overinflated my terrible OEM tires, felt like a slip n' slide at first lol. What a really fun, inventive course. Thank you again to the Lawsons for putting up with me and enabling me to go out to the Greyhound track, you guys are superb and very generous to share your knowledge with me. Also really appreciate the pictures Philip

99-00 NB's with really low miles are about $4k the last time I looked. Making a 99 "Sport" isn't impossible, but the springs are really hard to find now. A "LS" is easier, but heavier. Either way, do the clutch now. Your car will sell for more running with a good clutch. When we shopped for Sara's red 99, it took us about two months to find just the car she wanted.

Something that caught my eye recently. So I remembered it. Forgot where I parked my car but remembered this.
Craig's List wouldn't steer you wrong....hahahahaha If they give you your price include the "new clutch" in a box. Otherwise return the clutch for credit. Clutches are no longer a $500 deal. X3 is more like it.

I have 3 205/45-16 RE-71Rs that are probably good for at least another 4-6 events if flipped. The fourth is corded, so no good. I want to keep the wheels they're on, but you can have the tires -- just have to dismount them.

Our 58 mph in 2nd gear isn't anything to write home about either. However, I agree with you about finding a really nice 99-00 vs a busted NC1. I'd opt for the 00 as the Torsen was a stand alone option that year, it wasn't in 99.
