Aug 12 - FAST Duel 2017

I've been all wrapped up in preparing for the Season Finale on July 30th, but it's time y'all started getting registered for the Duel!

You also need to get your shirt orders in! The shirt order has to go in next Friday, August 4th to ensure that we have them on event day. Order yours now. (see first post of this topic)

I know it says in the same post that 5 events are required, which one it it? Id really like to be able to participate in this event so if it were 3 that would be awesome.

It's probably about time we adjusted the limit down to 3 events. Registration has been slow. If the more experienced folks don't get a spot, it's on then at this point. Ya snooze, ya lose, right?

The Real Truth:

Both my cars are finally developed beyond my ability. Brian "with balls" beat me by 3 seconds on a 36 second course in lowly RX8 and he's a 12th place national finisher in FS. DOH.

I only got beat by .9 seconds in RX8 Sunday by a guy who didn't turn off the nannies in the same car with broken in tires so it wouldn't make his S2k look slow on a 34 second course. Seriously?

I had to recruit Joe B. to drive my Vette in the DUEL because it is way beyond my ability. I finally have 2 cars beyond my ability to drive them and I am happy. Joe is a badass retiree younger than me. If Joe gives you a 1/2 a car length head start that would be 6ft, right? 60ft starts with a 1... 1/8th mile is in 1st gear. If he gives Harvey a fender that's 3 ft. DOH. Poor Elliot. Really need to compensate Phillip for these coming photos.

The mayor is Joe's sponsor. Sign up ladies. My only rule is that Joe keep the damned thing on the pavement.

Sucks because I really enjoyed the duel last year and was looking forward to entering another one.
I was holding off to see if I can get out of working that weekend but no luck.

For anyone who's on the fence, do it! It really is a blast.

Finally registered! My tenants paid the rent so I don't have to drive to NC and evict anyone this month, yay! Really love the duel format, the only thing more fun is an actual ProSolo and at least I have a slim chance in hell at winning the FAST duel, unlike a ProSolo. Of course I saw Ben is bringing out the Chiron, so we'll all be fighting for 2nd place.

We all know that buying a car doesn't guarantee a win! Gotta have a driver to match. And we've seen Ben drive.

But, but, but, its got 1500hp, that is 3x the horsepower of my Corvette, he should be able to finish in negative time.

If only it was vectored thrust, he might not hit the cones but he could blow them away. Would that be a penalty?

I'm probably out for the duel. Starting on the clutch/motor mounts in the AM, but even if I get everything done, won't be able to get it properly broken in by the weekend.
There is a slight chance I will get my RS3's off of the freakin' Mustang and use them on the other Mustang. That would put me in S3 and still likely 2 losses and out.

Either way, I'll still be there to harass and heckle.
