No time to work up a new course for this event. Going with one from last year. Be aware that it COULD change a bit. Power company vehicles are staging on the runway, and if we are allowed to have the event at all (we're hopeful for that), it is possible that we won't have all of our usual space. When I was out there yesterday, there WAS enough open space to work with. They were mostly at the far end. But, you never know what's going to happen in this kind of situation.

So, here's the course we're going to try to do. It is a design the lends itself to being shortened fairly easily if we need to. :thumbwink:

One big decreasing slalom... I guess this will be my drop round.
How much say did Ben have in this course selection ;)

Course selection went like this:
1. I don't have anything in the queue (except the course that Philip is designing that isn't done yet)
2. First event of Sept 2016 - 45-second course. Want something shorter in case space is limited.
3. Second event of Sept 2016 - Yeah, that will work.

Sorry, no conspiracy. :dunno:

I much prefer the version in my head where Ben, Jason, and Jamie asked Duke to park their trucks at the airport and then slipped a printout of that course map under your door.

Fixed that for you...I have a reputation to maintain. And keep in mind my car is still parked. Picked up a nice hood today, though. Should nail down the rest of the parts in a couple of weeks.

I'm sitting in Wendy's parking lot. Downgrade from Panela Bread. Wifi still down from cable.
Yesterday I was out at airport and they had equipment, food tent, semi's, trailers all down the whole course runway. Dozens of trailers and hundreds of lineme with dozens of line trucks from other states. Guess will wait and see. 1000's of people still have no power east, south and north of Hernando.

Fingers crossed. At least I was able to register for the event today!!

Come Monday I'll be contacting the airport to see if we should plan to have an autocross or not.
Not selfishly, I hope we can.

I found a copy of Loren's suspension. This is what keeps Philip up at night!! German engineering.

It's still a week away. I keep hearing reports that around here, power should mostly be up by the weekend. Up there, things are a little more spread out, but maybe they will be done by next weekend.

Any course that Farm Truck comes up with will be called "Crop Circles". Maybe once ending up on the paved area in a borrowed car?

I submit that we take Loren's course as advertised and call it "tidy whitey". Rule is that all the slaloms will be changed to "gates" 6" wider than the ass of my Vette. I will still beat 50% of you OA. Also I won't hit any cones even being tight. It's called "precision driving" not "farming". I will measure the ass of my car if it helps? Then I will bring my RX8....hahahaha. You know I won't. Fat asses rule.

If we move Loren's course 300ft East then it would be a Farm Truck course. He would still end up on the pavement only once. I will take my Honda 22" lawn mower out and mark the green cones. It only took me 3 weeks to kill the dirt fungus from Brooksville.

There's something provocative about that course map.

So is this event happening? Sounds like Duke is dragging their ass getting power back so they're probably still out there?

Somewhere on the Forum Steve wrote he is calling the airport Monday to see what's going on. I'm sure you'll get an email either way Monday.

We're monitoring the situation at Brooksville and potential alternate sites. We don't want to cancel the event any more than anyone else does. But, you know we're good about communication.

Can you guys remind me how many runs you get at a point event? 4? Curious about coming for just some fun and shake the cobwebs off, maybe in the Panamera GTS. John quickly got my car back together right before Irma but there's a couple (small I hope) things that need a dressing before I can take it.
