Everybody else that has driven my car has commended it for being very nice, but Joe called it out for snapping a little aggressively and he kinda walked away with my T-shirt a couple times, so I'm inclined to take his advice. I'm a little tentative as a driver as it is, so a less loose car may well make the difference. Hang in there, kiddos!
Seems to me, Joe probably has a pretty good idea about what's going on!

Loren, thank you very much for taking over my starter position, in the rain, so that I could get in a few runs in your car! :salute:
Thanks for not beating me in my own car. :thumbwink:

It was so nice to get in the driver seat again. Really lucked out with the rain, think Karma owed me one from driving the only wet heat last time this happened (Drew got it both times it seems). Finally convinced my wife to come out. She rode once, and that was enough it seems. Baby steps.

Working timing in the am with Joe B was highly educational, thanks Joe :thumbwink:

I wonder if taking that turn-around tight in my car, and accepting the dog-slow 1st gear acceleration out of it would have been faster? I never tried it. I just took it super-wide and tried to maintain momentum in 2nd.

I guess those "new" coils worked well?

My first run was tight in 2nd gear - sluggish, not bad.
Second run was tight, with a downshift to first - total waste of time, first ran out in the middle of the turnaround exit chute (and that car does not recover well from a hit to the rev-limiter).
Third run was wide (not super-wide) in second gear. Seat o' the pants says that was the faster way...but may not have been terribly different than my first run.

They were beautiful, night and day difference. Only downside is relearning the feel and setup of the car again. Wonder what I would've really placed in my class if it didn't rain in the afternoon.

The Mirage is truly a momentum car, and almost all of the return side was an acceleration zone. I think maximum momentum on the exit of hte turn-around was the right answer... for that car.

If it's any help you beat me by 11 seconds and David in RS wet only beat me by 3.5 sec. We didn't hear one tire squeal all afternoon. Not one. And no one went agriculture either like I heard someone did in the dry

Geesus. I thought I'd be racing against a "trailer queen" that drives only on and off the trailer and he puts the "shit box" M1 trick 2016 Mazda car in the weeds. Damn. Worst thing is I saw Gerry help him put his Porsche back on the trailer. Dammit. I must move in the wrong circles? DOH. He let Gerry beat him. Kind of like me letting "Farm Truck" drive my RX-8 at Dunellon. Won't happen again.

If you had a gray Miata and a co driver you had a 100% chance your co-driver would go agricultural.
