So Scott, when are you having a cookout?

What a question...where were you raised, in a winery?

Actually, that probably needs to happen!

And yes, beer is a fine idea!

A Big Green Egg. Its a ceramic charcoal grill. They bill themselves as the "world's best smoker and grill." I believe them.

You need to bring that thing out to an autocross one of these days. I've GOT to see for myself in person how well that thing cooks.
Yep, I've got a large. Scott's is much better since he has a table and an umbrella and an actual back yard, though. Mine sits in a "nest" (little holder with wheels) on the tiny slab on my back porch. You are, of course, more than welcome to come up for dinner. 8)
I do a pretty darn good pulled pork. Wanting to try a brisket, though.
And Ron, I didn't see what you were using, but give hardwood lump charcoal a try. It burns longer, cleaner (less ash) and can get really hot for a nice sear on steaks. Plus you don't need any lighter fluid to get it started.

Did I miss an announcement? I didn't see this post until the event was over.

yeah, there was an announcement, but the party came together at the last minute, and there wasn't much notice. Sorry.
This year's is kinda preplanned, and I'll try to get a more timely notice out.
