Awesome! Glad we were able to keep the 29th of June at least. Also awesome on another site! How's the layout of Venice, well how does it compare to others we have ran on?

Smaller area, but I think its possible to be efficient with the space and have a decent 30-40 sec course. Surface is part concrete and asphalt.CaptainSquirts wrote:Awesome! Venice is actually a little smaller than Dunnellon, but the pavement looks better, and it's closer for most of us. It'll be fun to work with for some Classic events.
But, most importantly... it's an available site. We need to latch onto anything we can get at this point. Relying on just one or two sites is what got us into trouble when Brooksville dropped out. We need as many active sites as we can get.

2019 Schedule - UPDATED 6/19
Now that we've actually done a site visit to Venice. It's bigger than it looks. There's more to it than just the short stretch of old runway, the side access road should be usable in creative ways, making it a lot like Dunnellon. I think we can have a lot of fun there! And after getting comfortable with some Classic events there, it's possible we could even do a larger event there.
Our August event been approved by the Venice City Council, and with that, we've updated the schedule through the end of 2019. See the first post of this thread. (and within the next few minutes, the website... and then MotorsportsReg)
Thanks for sticking with us through all of these schedule changes! Huge thanks to Bill Lynch for his help in securing both the Lakeland and Venice locations!

Oh, noticed the last event of the year is a Lakeland special event. Any ideas of what it is thought of yet?

Probably either a Duel or an Enduro. Haven't really looked yet. Seems like the site wouldn't be great for a Duel, so very likely a limited-entry Enduro.
