It's really nice to have that option now. I am loving the new handling of the car. Today was a lesson in awd lift off oversteer which was never even remotely possible before. Huge amounts of fun and I am happy with my time. Not super fast but I think I am making progress figuring out the cars new potential.Yes, very much so. If my rear started to slide but not enough to be off line or oversteer too much, then that's when my times were quicker.

Okay, finally finished up the day, got fed (Mmmmm... BBQ), got home, got showered...
As has been said, GREAT DAY! Full round of thanks to all who were involved in any way. It doesn't happen without you.
Minor setup change to the Mirage today. Just added 10 PSI to the rear tires in an effort to loosen up the rear of the car. It did work, but not "too much". What I was reminded of, as my car went sliding waaaaay across course at 56 mph, was that you simply "don't lift" in a turn with a properly set up FWD car. I violated that rule as I was entering the sweeper headed into the turn-around and thought I might hit the left side of the center gate... followed up by not immediately matting the gas to stop the inevitable slide. I need to re-learn how to play this game!
First good spin I've had in quite some time! Didn't do any in-car video today, unfortunately.
PS: If I'd been on my game, I could have finished better than a 37.1.

This course seemed to be the great equalizer, I actually finished in the top 10 overall! Thought I was finally gonna get that class win with my 35.2xx, then Aaron had to lay down that crazy fast time. Always a bridesmaid
Love seeing unconventional autocross cars do well, good job to Nate for building a badass car and Philip for surprising everyone in it

My best run in the Mustang (FTD*). A few mistakes cost me but thankfully not enough. My first M2 win this season and I'm really surprised it was in a Mustang. Nat has done a fantastic job on the car. Turn in was great, mid-turn grip was great, exit was almost too great. Definitely could take more power but I did start thinking about how it might upset what is a very balanced car.
*Thanks Aaron. Great runs.

Ah, so THAT's what happened. I thought you saw the red flag, slowed for it... and then just randomly smacked 3 cones on your way to the finish. Not seeing the flag... that makes more sense.nathanwilliams617 wrote:Dang that's jacked up. I ignored a full course red and finished a run?
(and I don't remember why they flagged you... but, obviously Station 7 wasn't flagging you...

Beat comment from the timing trailer.
“Build that wall” - Ron Rice
Side note - who knew Honda insights could gobble up cones so well. 5 cones just gone.

Good stuff!
I'm late to the party as usual here.
Thank you very much to everybody who helped out from camera spotters to folks who stuck around and helped load the trailer. Y'all make it happen!
And I've said it before, and I'll say it again - Philip is supernatural.
