Contact the carb engineering on that. I was able to get a proper float height setting to correct that and an accurate psi fuel input setting if you have a gage adjuster inline? 5psi I think I ran with a 750 Holly on a 306 as no tank return line. Rob probably knows all that in his head. FI carb kit is ridiculously accurate/smooth though now for the sake of an O2 sensor bung. Next you'll want a top + AC? OR 3 C5's for less money?

I spoke to Quick Fuel and have made some adjustments to lower the level slightly, and it helped eliminate the issue under heavy braking. I used to be able to grab the roll bar and rock it side to side and get the car to stall, it was bad. The trick is to lower it a bit more. Not a hard job, just messy. Another 1/4 or 1/2 turn on each bowl should fix it. The inline fuel gauge is reading right between 5-7 psi, so the regulator is doing its part.
I’ve been looking at the Sniper EFI from Holley, looks like a good product for the money. I’d be more motivated if I drove it more, but today it’s easy just to give it a few revs and off I go. We’ll see, maybe it’ll make it to the top of the “to do” list.

I absolutely loved the venue. I felt like a total idiot though on my runs. I just kept getting lost.

In my 20+ autocrosses, i've never had it happen and I'm not sure why. Once I figured out what cone I was missing, it all made sense, but I guess i was a slow learner. Oh well! Can't wait to get back out to Lakeland again

Anywho, it's so nice being able to sit in the shade for once. So the main question, keeping it tight or carry a little more speed and go a little more wide? I kept it mostly wide, while some others did tight.
Interesting that in the top 10, 8 were from run group number 2 in the morning. Wonder if the asphalt getting more hot in the afternoon makes a difference in grip.

Run group #2 in the morning seems to have gotten the most ideal conditions, with just the right temps and a brushed up course from run group 1.
I'm still not sure if running tight or wide would work better. Watching my runs, I think I was trying something inbetween, the turn around was where I feel if I could keep the revs above 4,000 to 4,500 I would be ok, a little slow, but right under the powerband and the last section was also really crucial to nail correctly, I noticed I was late on my fastest run, but did it much better on my last run

I did notice in my final fastest run, that running tight on the portion on the first right sweep starting/ending the figure 8 was better as the yellow painted section could get a bit hairy traction wise lol

Nathan got slower though it looks like from the times. I noticed from previous events Doug gets faster as the day goes on. But its hard to tell as I think there were many fn runs not in their own car?

We were barely quicker. My fun run time vs my class time was very negligible. Only place I noticed any difference was the turn around/sweeper. Being at the limit + the rear being in the middle of the yellow=instant snap oversteer. Everything else felt the same.

A few got faster, a few got slower ( Dan ran the same) I'd almost call it a wash. Cant say for sure as I didn't run both myself. I know I'll eliminate the variable and do am again if we get the chance to go there again during the summer months

I had a 37.391 in morning and a 37.968 in fun runs. I pushed harder in afternoon and had less grip. I typically do better in fun runs but not this time.

The pushed harder thing could have something to do with it. My first two runs were decent with a couple mistakes, my third run I cleaned it up and then my final run I pushed it just a little harder and took out cones in two separate sections

I was in my own car the entire day and ran only slightly faster in the afternoon. Somewhere in the 35 second range was the goal but I let the car get out of shape during the second time around on that wide right hand turn and only managed the 36.137 pass. The rest of the lap felt pretty good!
Anyway I absolutely loved Lakeland and I really hope we are invited out again. It was definitely one of my favorite events and was my second experience with anything other than a runway. I was only able to make it to one dog track event prior. See you all in a few weeks!

I guess I can let this cat out of the bag: We have been approved for another two events at Lakeland. July and November. We're working up some other potential schedule changes before we announce everything. But, yeah... they like us.

I loved the site. The bathrooms were clean. The shade was great. The surface was pretty good too.
