Width- I'd go for the widest tire I can fit (check for club rules if classing is a constraint for you).
Azenis 615 has a 255/40/17 for you.
RE01R have 245/40/27 or 245/45/27.
RE070 only has 225/45 (3/4 inch less width than above).

Plus, with these you won't even have to drive around the cones, you could go right over the top of them.

Offset of the STi rims on my car (the 7.5" ones) is 53.
Offset...

I don't think we need quite as much offset as the 04's
Please people, do not just quote random specs- offset is directly related to rim width- you can certainly use a +55 6.5" wide rim on most late model Subarus, but you cannot use a +55 8" wide rim! Offset Nirvana is within a few millimeters of:
Width .... Offset
6.5" ....... +53 to +55
7.0" ....... +50 to +53
7.5" ....... +47 to +50
8.0" ....... +43 to +47
Anything within sighting distance of these ranges is happiness for your wheel bearings. I reserve the right to be corrected on the ranges, but they are about 95% accurate .

I know it was mentioned once before in this thread but you may want to look at going a tad wider. If I did not have a set of 225/45/17's stacked waiting to go on I would probably try a set of 235/45/17's. In shopping for these stiff side walls would be a target, plus grip of course.
They are putting them on the JDM STI's now since they went to the 8.0 inch wide rim. EVO's run 235's on an 8.0 as well.
235/45ZR17
