I may need to beg a co-drive from someone for this one though. Brian is going to help me put a new clutch in some weekend before that, but doubt I will be able to put many miles on it to break it in before the event.
Or, maybe it's a good time for the multi-driver rental car challenge!

there has been a request From Tech Inspection and I agree it will stream line some things. Tech is going to be under a tent that will be set up in the staging area. similar to SPC you are going to be responsible to get your car through tech just Pull in and Jack and crew will look you over and stamp/sticker/or other wise mark you as good to go!!!
Also with this being a closed site and everyone should be there by 8am correct? and there will be no walk on drivers so I would like to get the Show started sooner rather than later. The earlier we get going the more we get to go.

Registration closes at 9am "ish" Steve and I normally hang out a few extra minutes just incase someone's running late or gets lost. So everyone should be there no later than 9:15.TracAction wrote:

I suggested before that we should have a central Tech Location at Brooksville, but it was shot down for one reason or another.
Scott I'll be there at 7am, so you might as well put me in Registration with Steve, and if Jamie is a last minute scratch I can still help you get things set up.

I don't see any reason why we couldnt just set it up furthur away from "grid"solar 90GT/03Si wrote:I thought so too, I believe the dicussion was that it would cause to much traffic in the narrow grid area, or something to that effect.
It's not like we don't have enough real estate out there....... let's just use common sense and not form a 30 car line.

Not to contradict Brian, but I'm going to:Registration closes at 9am "ish" Steve and I normally hang out a few extra minutes just incase someone's running late or gets lost. So everyone should be there no later than 9:15.
Registration closes at 9. Don't be late.
The longer registration takes, the later the final timing data and run group adjustments get done, the later the event starts, and so on. If you show up late, we'll probably let you in, but you'll be holding up the entire event. This is one of the reasons last month got started late...
BE ON TIME! please.

How's this: you aren't coming because you're afraid your luck is gonna run out! Hah!

RANT ALERT!!!
We don't seem to have a problem with late arrivals at Brooksville but SPC, at times, is another story. I suggested that we start to charge late arrivals $10, I understand that some late arrivals are legit, but some aren't. The registration people are there at 7am, and with late arrivals it doesn't leave much time to prep your car for Tech and walk the course. A few times I've had everything put away and then a few show up late, then I have to dig through the box and get out waviers and update the drivers list for timing.

Part of the problem at SPC is that we allow walk-ups. People can wait until 8am when they wake up and decide "hey, I think I'll go to the autocross", show up at 9:15, and it will happen.
Brooksville not only requires pre-reg, but you have to get there before 9am or risk not getting through the gate, AND it's an hour or more drive for most people... all of this requires planning ahead.
It's not the most friendly thing for a club to do, but we'd have fewer problems if we required pre-reg for ALL of our events and did away with walk-up registration. I'm not sure we'd lose much, as it seems a great number of newbs want to come watch the first time, anyway. From there, they can learn about the pre-reg requirements and all that.

The "Push Harder, Suck Less" philosophy explained:
Push Harder - Drive as close to the limit of your tires as possible.
Suck Less - Drive something resembling a proper racing line.

Pre-registered or not, everyone needs to sign the insurance waiver, and at SPC they need to fill out the student form. Plus we need to check off who's here and who's not.
At SPC I don't mind hanging around a few extra minutes to get the walk ups taken care of.
At Brooksville, I've had (and so have others) to go to the gate after 9am to let late people in. I understand if a driver hasn't been to Brooksville before, it can be a tricky place to find the first time.
It's the few pre-registered at both sites, but mostly SPC, that show up after everything is put away and registration is "closed" that I have a small issue with. Locating the reg box, getting the forms and drivers checked in takes up my time that I want to use to walk the course and chat with other drivers.
I don't want to turn anyone away because they're late, and I know that charging a "late fee" seems a bit extreme, but if it helps getting everyone there on time, then great.
I don't want to make this a big issue, but I figure if I can get there before 9am, so can everyone else.
