Although I did not attend this or last month's event...I vote for a single course with some length. I was put off about the short timed portion and decided to forego the drive to Brookesville.

I've been to too many other events that are infrastructure limited for length (small lot, curbing, lights, potholes, gravel, etc)...why artificially limit the offering?

Besides I need some time to correct my mistakes with HP than with finesse. :D I'm going to have to source some improved cylinder heads to get any advantage...

If we ever do dual courses again we need:
3 groups instead of 4
2 sets of timing equipment
Times from both courses count.

Otherwise I'd like to see a really long course covering most of the real estate that both of these courses did.

This was a fun event, thanks to all the helped pull it off.

It dried up fast enough that I probably should have swapped wheels but most likely I would have only finished 2 positions higher than I did on my street tires. Got my alignment fixed today so hopefully the car will turn now.

Flogging the Yaris?!?!?
Is that what the kids are calling it these days? Yellow_Colorz_PDT_08

Even though it was short, I liked the course. Hit it right and it was very fast, but a mistake at the wrong spot really screwed you up. I had to do half my runs while it was still wet and even that was entertaining.
I think if we are going to try to do more practice courses, we need to try to put the grid/trailer area in the middle of the two. Since I ran in the 1st group, I really wasn't interested in heading down to the practice course, but I might have ran a couple of runs if it weren't a 1/4 mile away. Also we would have better communication and nobody would be stuck sitting around waiting for the current run group to finish.

Three groups assumes the second course has no workers replacing downed cones. For two timed courses, you'd have to run four groups (two and two).

It was a fun day,
I really dont thnk the timed course was that short.
It had a very nice flow that rewarded being on line.
If you were off, you paid for your mistakes! Yellow_Colorz_PDT_08
My suggestion would be, set up the two course with the grid in the middle that way you can run both courses with no problems!
Much easyer with the flow of cars.
i dont know if we have to set up the trailer in brooksville the same spot or not?
i have never heard of that one yet?
ANYWAYS GREAT DAY GUYS!

I thought the event was well run and set up but I also dislike the shortness of the timed course. I did bring a radio out to the practice course in the morning and we made some safety changes as soon as we saw them but I am sure there are always little things to look out for. Since SPC is limited to a short course only I don't like giving up the length at Brooksville. Let me remind people that with a very long course we need a lot more course workers. When I did the two day event recently the second day long course had to be shortened due to the fact that there would have been two more worker stations to get out to the end safely. We eliminate too many course worker positions (in my opinion) be letting people do other things. Personally, I think the only people who should be exempt from a course worker position are the chair, co chair, and registration (since they have to get there so early). Every one else should work the course and then it could be as long as you wanted. We will also need a few more radios, flags, and fire extinguishers for the extra worker stations. I agree that the practice course should be timed, but it could be hand timed. Also, some of the fire extinguishers need to be recharged, as they are a little low (in the yellow on the gauge).

Seeing Steve ask about the sodas reminds me; what happened to the trash? As far as I know I didn't take it unless it too got packed into the trailer; I wasn't watching.

Howard, you might want to check before it starts to stink in the barn!
