I happened to glance at my tires this morning when I got to work, and they have some chunks missing on the outside of the tread. I guess they didn't like all those repeated runs.

Yeah the one cookie I had was killer. The chips were good too, but can you ever go wrong with cookies?

I will always remember 3/11/07 as the day I lost my virginity to Autocross. (Wished I could say the same for the other kind!) When my friend from VA Beach told me you can't have anymore fun with your pants on....he wasn't kidding! What an awesome group of people! I'm looking so forward to making some really good friends. I, too, was absolutely fried (sun & seat time) by the end of the day. Ironically, my drive home was the first time I've driven the speed limit in 31 years! :shock: Two things I won't forget next time is sun screen and an insulated water container with a straw to get under the helmet. I wasn't in time to register for this weekend, but have already paid for 4/14/07. I need some help here.....how the heck am I going to explain to my mom that I'll be racing on Mother's Day? Ouch!!!! Her beatings were bad enough as a child! Yellow_Colorz_PDT_33 Thanks again to all the instructors! Being a teacher myself, I can say with the utmost confidence that you guys were top notch!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know this is a little late, but I wanted to say thank you to all the instructors and volunteers for the school. I enjoyed it immensely. The production and ‘flow’ of the day was flawless; everything ran very smoothly. I particularly want to commend the patience of the instructors. They would tell me to do something, I would think I did it, and they would tell me the same thing again, and again. I was frustrated with myself because I couldn’t seem to make my hands and feet do what seemed to be such a simple concept to master in my mind. Yet, they were always patient and encouraging.

I did improve some by the end of the day, so I guess some of it was sinking in. We’ll see if anything I think I learned ‘sticks’ at Brooksville.

I had a great time and after the event Steve and I both commented that this Novice School was much better the the Evolution driving school we went to in October 2006. The folks had more seat time, more personal instruction, we had lunch provided, and best of all, it was $190 cheaper than the Evo school was! It was also nice that it was about one and a half hours closer to home than the Evo school was.
I thought all of the instructors did a great job and it shows true devotion to the idea of FAST that there were that many folks willing to give up a day of their weekend to show us "sloggers" how to drive. It was great that there were 3 instructors to an area because they all had their own "take" on what you need to do to be fast. They were all pretty much saying the same thing in my case, but it was good to hear it a couple of different ways. It really made it stick and I could feel my times getting better.
I think this would be a good school for folks that have been autocrossing for awhile. Maybe some more advanced techniques thrown in to keep it interesting for the veterans. Great job!!

If they ever do one where one of the items to practice is single cone turnarounds, I think I'll be there as a student. Always wanted an excuse to practice my tarmac handbrake turns.
