If anyone can tell me what we need from the trailer, I will pick it all up, including ice:
Marble dust? If we need it, where do I get it?
Fat chalk?
Soda?
Water?
AA batteries?
Napkins?
Plates?
Garbage bags?

I live about 10 minutes away, so I can be there to help set up, but how early is early?

Well, since I can't tow the trailer (again), I guess I'll bring the gate key and get whoever is doing registration going, and whatever else may be needed. Yellow_Colorz_PDT_02
Jeff, if marble dust is needed, easiest place is Allen's Sporting Goods on Alt. 19 in Seminole - about midway between Park Blvd. on the North and the ramp to Tyrone Blvd on the South (maybe Dan's course will be so great we won't need it

) You'd pay for it at the front counter, then meet 'em around the side to load it up. (Note to self: add marble dust retailer info to Event Chair Guide)

At least my Dad & I should be there @ ~7am. I know, sounds ridiculous, but it may come true. . .

For the Chaulk. Get a Razor knife and 4x6 sheets of Drywall (or scraps if we have any builders) it's cheap and easy, works awesome, each sheet makes 24 3" wide 4' long "chaulks" the colored and sidewalk chaulk we are using is less then optimal. Most importantly it's easy for us older guys to not have to bend over at each cone. since it's long enough to use while standing. and the wite color is bright against even concrete. if your on course and need one you can snap one in 1/2 and have 2 chaulks.
See 15 years of autocross you pick up some things.

Best implementation I saw of that was someone had glued two layers of 1/2" sheetrock together (perhaps it was done that way for a commercial project or something? Idunno.) and made strips from that. They made a nice wide line, didn't break as easily as a thin piece of sheetrock, and as Jeff said, they were much easier to work with than a little piece of chalk.

Soo.. no updates in here lately, how many volunteers do we still need?

Updates:
We're going to use the course from our Nov. 20th, 2004 event. It looks great, and going back to a TR post-event thread that Loren dug up, "56 drivers, 8 runs, done and gone by 4:30." How can you argue with that?
I STILL DO NOT HAVE A CO-CHAIR!!!
Someone better step-up quick or,. . .
else.

Do you want a few copies of the map, or will we do without as has been suggested in another thread?

Who suggested that? I know that not everyone uses them, but I think they're a great resource for novices (and anyone else who cares to have one). Sure is easier to help someone if you can point to a map and tell them exactly which turn they need to work on and how.
Anyway... Dan just emailed me asking if I had a higher res version of the map, which I did. He's got something up his sleeve.

Looks deceptive, I am assuming a 25-28 second start interval. second car can start right when the 1st car passes in front of the Start line the 3rd time.
we will use 30 seconds to be safe, so to get 60 entries 8 runs course must be hot for a minimum of 4 hours. add an hour for lunch, 3 (1/2 hour) periods while changing run groups/staging. and 1/2 an hour just cuz we need 7 hours from the end of the drivers meeting to the time we leave to run this event.
Dan, can we try to get the Drivers meeting promptly started @ 9:30 and done by 9:45 this should allow a full boatload of runs with a full 15 min for a GOOD novice walkthrough and a hot course @ 10:00 hopefully we can be leaving for drinks @ 5:30
I'll make sure the starter is aware the interval that flows, they are the pacemaker of the day.
Dan, what do you need me to do to help?[/img]

I don't know what some people think, but I find a printed course map helps me a lot to understand the course.
