Re: September 2011 at SPC
Party planning is in the works. Most likely potential dates are 8/13 and 8/27. Brian is on the case, he'll post details when they are available.

Re: September 2011 at SPC
We've narrowed it down a bit. Either 8/27 or 8/28. A lunch-time thing.
Gonna send email to the class Champeens and see if I can get a concensus on Saturday vs. Sunday. Will update as soon as possible in a new, event-specific thread that I will create soon enough...

Wait until registration opens..and then get your entries in early!islandmon wrote:I will do safety in September and Liz wants to volunteer to do course set up.
I'm not trying to be difficult, but keeping track of who, what, when, and (very important) wondering whether people who signed up for an early job but haven't registered are going to show is too much of PIA when it's scattered all over the web. Easier to tie it to registration, where it's all kept in one database, everything has a time stamp (so I know which two of the 50 people who volunteered for tech did so first), and everyone's put their cash (or an event credit) down to make it more likely they'll be there.
Different thread!Any ideas on an August get together?

Hi all,
I was just accepted for a school I applied for in Washington DC. I'll be leaving next week for 10 months of education, returning to Tampa in Jul 2012.
Really bummed not to be here to race the Miata next season! Christa and I will try to get some events in up in DC and keep practicing. Have a great season, and we'll catch up with you next year!

Unfortunately, I know no one in the CS crowd there, but look up Ron Shurie or Frank Supik in GS, or Marshall Cone in HS, or Craig Garfield in DM, or Brian Garfield in CSP (who's also their novice coordinator) -- tell 'em you leanred from me, and they'll do their best to unlearn you and teach you right.

I guess if your name is Marshall Cone, you pretty much have to autocross!Jamie wrote:http://solo.wdcr-scca.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Prepare for some culture shock -- they run 200-300 car events, so the structure is much different. I am in the same boat. No car. Thinking about buying a set of rs-3's so I can drive my own car.

I think I'm finally going to give in to the itch and flog my Z4 for a while. My tires are crappy, but it will still be fun!

Ahhhhh... I continue to learn from the master.. Through your training I have begun to see the light.. The key is to begin the ' equipment blame' early..Loren wrote:I think I'm finally going to give in to the itch and flog my Z4 for a while. My tires are crappy, but it will still be fun!

Blame the equipment and never let anyone else drive your car to prove otherwise.snookwheel wrote:Ahhhhh... I continue to learn from the master.. Through your training I have begun to see the light.. The key is to begin the ' equipment blame' early..

Thanks Loren, and thanks for the link Jamie. Looks like a lot of autocross going on up here, and I'm thinking about a track day at VIR. Have fun this year, see you all next summer!
