Howard, we're not insured by SCCA. Our policy isn't as vague as the "low 60's for stock and street prepared" language found in the SCCA rule book. But, hey, good news! It looks like K&K has raised the limit from 60 to 70. Look here(scroll way down to the last two pages). But, we'll need to verify that Brooksville is okay with that. They always said "60" when we asked before, but that was likely tied to what our insurance said.

For now, we aim to keep the fastest cars below 65 and street cars well below 60. <ahem> I'd rather not document the occasional excess here on the forum. Hence... 'nuff said.

We do shift our courses around as best we can to avoid broken or breaking areas of concrete. It's getting harder and harder to do. If you want to discuss patching, that topic probably deserves its own thread.

The last non competition Corvette club 'test and tune' I went to @ Hernando in the bone dry was pretty quick on the return lap third gear 1/4+ mile in my stock stang:)

But Shamu will ONLY go 85 according to the speedo so it's a 'slow' car and I never watch the speedo when racing anyhow so who really knows?

My Rx-8 can do 68mph max @ redline in second but I've never hit the limiter EVER in 2nd at any actual competition event. So I'm thinking our courses are well designed always. :salute:

Yeah, Corvette club runs quicker than we do. Don't know how they get away with it. Not our problem. :)

I had a lot of fun at Saturday's event. Thank you Jamie and Phil! Awesome course! I thought that only slaloms could be set up at Brooksville. The rain didn't hurt things one bit (except for those who had to work in it, thanks for making that happen for the rest of us :salute: ). I've only previously worked in the rain and never competed in it. That was a very learning experience.

Really neat b/w's Greg!

You should have stayed to the right of the first slalom cone on the way back, just like you did with the second slalom. By staying right it turns it into a one cone slalom (if there is such a thing :headscratch: ). Otherwise, that was a good run! :notworthy:

I saw Jeremy takin that line as well as a few orther fast guys I never tried it I thoght for sure left would be faster :headscratch: next time I'll have to go for a ride with you after you figgerout all the fast lines

I never tried going right there, but didn't feel that left was slow at all. Left entry seemed easier to me and the exit was a non-issue. Doesn't seem like I'd have been able to carry as much throttle through the section leading into it if I tried to get over to the right side.

Which way did Drew take it? :dunno:

Holy crap, pics of my car! Thanks for making them affordable Greg. I know too many photographers that over charge for their pix! Hmm, the rear end is still squatting too much. DAMN, I wonder if they can adjust my alignment without charging me an arm and a leg again.

Anytime, Rick! You need to work on getting the "racing line" into your head and quit trying to make everything a discrete straight or turn. Blend it all together and make it flow! It's a zen thing. :thumbwink:
Sager words were never said. :notworthy: CJ said I was going well through the slalom's but lost to much RPM in the turns and had no power to get my speed back. Need to go a little bit more Ti chi and less Sumo... Finding the line would definitely keep the RPM's up. I will concentrate on that next time. :read:

:thought: Perhaps I should change my screen name to grasshopper... lol

Gregs you both had some great pic's thanks for getting pictures of the "old girl" in some of them...
