Ron,

Since I found out the 22nd St. gas station is open selling coffee before 7:30am I'll volunteer to be an instructor. Cars still have tillers and Isinglass don't they?

Calling all Packrats! Specifically those who have instructed before.

I know that I've typed up some "instructor instructions" in the past to try to help get all our instructors on the same page as far as what we want to cover in each exercise so that we can be somewhat consistent in what we present. But, I can't find it. If anyone saved a copy of that, it could save me a bit of typing (and better yet, a bit of thinking). Email it to me if you've got it!

Thanks!

Oh, and we're down to 4 available student slots. Filling up fast.

Kenny stepped up to instruct at the meeting tonight. And with Greg added to the worker list, we've met our minimums. Would still be good to have a couple back-ups.

Greg, we'll consider you a backup instructor. If we get more volunteer workers, we can shift you to the instructor list. Or if we end up short instructors due to cancels/no-shows, we might slide you into an instructor position.

Only TWO students slots left now!

Aaaaand, Doug just reminded me that he snuck in as an instructor volunteer up there somewhere. He's added to the instructor list, and John (that guy) has been moved back to the worker position that he wanted. (he was arm-twisted into instructing)

Still could use one or two more volunteers. We're in decent shape, though. We have a full slate of instructors, plus a couple guys on the worker list that could fill-in for missing instructors. It's coming together.

Someone registered a Honda Crosstour, which is sort of a crossover SUV/sedan thing. Is that a good car for a novice to learn in?

Yeah, I did a double-take on that one, too!

But, it appears that the Crosstour is very much Accord-based. It's a big car, but it's wide and not overly top-heavy. Pretty much a typical "mid-size" Japanese sedan jacked up a couple inches.

It'll be okay for the school, and probably okay to autocross. We'll evaluate it at the school and if it scares us, we'll have to turn them away for future autocrosses without at least some suspension mods. I think it'll probably be okay, though... at least from a safety perspective.

Are we still letting instructors get a "fun run" at lunch time ?

March 18 Registration Warning!

Due to 24 students being registered, plus a fair number of unknown names that keep registering, not to mention a handful of "sort of familiar" names that we rarely, if ever see... we topped out at 60 entries last night. That's registration open-to-full in 6 days!

We added another 5 slots last night, and 4 of them are gone already... still mostly to new people!

I'm pretty sure there are still names on the instructor/worker list (and other regulars) who want to attend this event, but haven't registered yet. We're prepared to open another 5 slots for this event, and possibly another 5 after that. But, we won't go beyond 75 entries, no way, no how.

SO... if you want in, here's the deal:
There's one slot open right now, will probably be gone before mid-afternoon. At 10pm tonight, I will open another 5 slots. If you're a School volunteer and didn't get in after those 5 are gone, PM me and we'll see what we can do.

On a similar note, if you're an instructor and just want to come out Sunday to do ride alongs, that would be awesome! Looks like we'll probably have around 30 drivers that have done less than 2 autocrosses. It's gonna be pretty crazy.
